Do not modify or customize electric vehicle batteries without authorization.

During the "Trade in your gasoline car for an electric car" event held on August 2nd and 3rd at the Dong Nai Provincial Event and Foreign Affairs Center, hundreds of people visited and test-drove the vehicles. Many people raised the question: "If I want the electric car to have a longer range, should I replace the battery with a higher-capacity one?"

In response to this issue, technicians at the "Trade in your gasoline bike for an electric bike" event emphasized that current electric motorcycles use lithium-ion batteries with a pre-programmed battery management system. If users change the configuration or attach incompatible external batteries, it will violate safety standards, easily leading to short circuits, overheating, or explosions.

In fact, there have been unfortunate incidents where electric vehicles spontaneously caught fire while parked at home. A typical example is the fire that occurred on the evening of July 29th at a house in Tan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. An electric motorbike, not plugged in for charging, suddenly burst into flames, forcing the entire family to climb onto the balcony of a neighbor's house to escape. The initial suspected cause was related to the vehicle's battery system.

The Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Department of the Ministry of Public Security also warned that electric vehicle battery fires are difficult to handle, can smolder, and reignite. The risk is even higher if substandard or unbranded batteries are used.

People are advised to choose genuine vehicles with batteries that meet international testing standards, and to absolutely avoid replacing batteries or adding aftermarket parts themselves. Short-term cost savings are not worth sacrificing the safety of oneself and one's family.
