On April 23, the Department of Internal Affairs of Kien Giang province held a meeting to provide information to agencies and the press about the exhibition of images and documents on the history of Kien Giang province.
Accordingly, the exhibition theme is "The History of the Formation and Development of Kien Giang Province through Images and Archival Documents," featuring 300 representative images and documents that reflect significant and important events in history, currently preserved at the National Archives Center, under the State Archives and Records Department ( Ministry of Interior ), the Kien Giang Provincial Historical Archives Center, and other relevant agencies, units, and localities.
The exhibition is scheduled to run for 7 days (from April 28th to May 4th) at the Bang Bien Phu Melaleuca Forest War Memorial Site and the Temple of Heroes and Martyrs of Vinh Thuan District.
According to Huynh Xuan Luat, Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Affairs of Kien Giang province, the exhibition of images and documents about the history of the province's formation and development consists of three main parts: the ancient Ha Tien town (under the Nguyen Dynasty before 1900), introducing typical images and documents about the Ha Tien area from its founding until before it was colonized by the French;
The heroic land of the South (from 1900 to 1975) introduces images and documents of Ha Tien and Rach Gia provinces during the French colonial period and the resistance war against the US for national liberation;
Kien Giang in 50 years since the reunification of the country (from 1975 to the present) with the victory of April 30, 1975, the socio-economic achievements from 1975 to the present, along with the groundbreaking changes of Kien Giang province.

In addition, according to Mr. Huynh Xuan Luat, the organizing committee has also allocated a section to display typical images and documents of Vinh Thuan district over its 60 years of establishment and development.

"This exhibition of images and documents about the history of Kien Giang province aims to provide an overview and brief introduction of valuable images and documents from the period of land reclamation and settlement to the present day to all levels of the population, through the presentation of images and archival documents for them to learn and understand."
The exhibition also aims to preserve national cultural identity, educate future generations about historical traditions, and contribute to the firm protection of national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"In addition, this is also an opportunity to supplement the Kien Giang Provincial Historical Archives with valuable historical images and documents to serve the exploitation, use, research, and study of archival images and documents," Mr. Huynh Xuan Luat added.
