Entrusting our faith
While sipping tea, Mr. Nguyen Van Na, a resident of Hamlet 2, Vinh Xuong Commune, shared: "What voters want is for elected representatives to fulfill their commitments, stay close to the people, and promptly address practical issues."
From Vinh Xuong, Tan An, and Chau Phong communes to Tan Chau and Long Phu wards, people place their full trust and expectations in the new term's representatives. Ms. Tran Thi Le, a resident of Tan An commune, said: "The voters' trust has been demonstrated through each ballot. Therefore, representatives must be clearly aware of their responsibilities, not just stopping at promises but needing concrete and practical actions."
This belief didn't come naturally, but was formed from very specific expectations. Through meetings with constituents, the issues raised were closely related to daily life, directly reflecting the difficulties and concerns of the people. First and foremost is the worry about livelihoods. The prices of agricultural supplies, gasoline, and oil are constantly rising, while the prices of agricultural products are volatile, causing difficulties for many households. The situation of "bumper harvest, low prices" still lacks a fundamental solution, preventing people from confidently engaging in long-term production. This is no longer an isolated story, but a widespread problem in many upstream localities. Voter Sales, residing in Chau Phong commune, expressed: "People hope the State will have solutions to stabilize prices and support the output of agricultural products so that people can produce with peace of mind, and no longer face the situation of a bumper harvest but still uncertain income."

Expectations from practical action
Besides livelihoods, infrastructure continues to be a major concern for the people. The need to build the Tan Chau - Hong Ngu bridge, upgrade National Highway 80B, and invest in infrastructure in the Vinh Xuong International Border Gate area all aim to expand development space, promote trade, and improve people's lives. Meanwhile, the erosion and deterioration of bridges and roads in many places have not been thoroughly addressed, directly affecting daily life and production. Voter Tran Hoa Binh , residing in Tan Chau ward, expressed: "People expect representatives to pay more attention to infrastructure investment, especially regional transportation projects, including the Tan Chau - Hong Ngu bridge, to make travel and business more convenient."
Social welfare issues were also of particular concern to voters. From health insurance support for the elderly and policies for demobilized soldiers to improving the quality of education and healthcare, all aimed at stabilizing lives and ensuring long-term social security for the people. Mr. Tran Van Hop, Secretary of the Party Committee of Vinh Xuong commune, said: “Many opinions mentioned supporting young people in starting businesses, creating conditions for loans, access to technology and markets. This is not just a matter for individuals, but also a way to retain young workers in the locality.”
Based on these specific expectations, the demands placed on representatives go beyond simply listening; they must follow through on the issues entrusted to them by their constituents. Listening is necessary, but action is the true measure of responsibility. The people expect elected representatives to regularly interact with the community, visit local areas, and closely monitor the realities of people's lives, thereby truthfully and fully reflecting these issues at sessions of the National Assembly and people's councils at all levels. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen supervision and promote the resolution of legitimate requests, avoiding a situation where numerous requests are submitted but progress is slow.
The grand event has concluded, but the journey of the delegates has only just begun. The people's faith in the upstream region of the Tien River today lies not in words, but in concrete changes in the future. When their suggestions are heard, difficulties are gradually overcome, and people's lives improve, that is when their faith will be firmly consolidated.
