(NLDO) – On January 8th, selling pressure slowed down in the stock market. Investors expect buying power to increase in the next session.
At the end of the session on January 8, the VN-Index increased by 4.07 points (+0.33%), closing at 1,251 points.
The market showed cautious movements and retreated at the beginning of the trading session on January 8th. The number of declining stocks gradually spread. However, the market reversed course after the VN-Index fell to the 1,240 point level.
The recovery momentum became more evident in the afternoon session. The market gradually regained its reference level and gained points towards the end of the session. As a result, many investors expect buying interest to heat up in the next session.
With the recovery trend, many stock groups have regained their positive momentum. The rise in banking stocks contributed to supporting the market. In addition, steel, securities, and real estate stocks also saw quite active trading.
At the end of the session on January 8, the VN-Index increased by 4.07 points (+0.33%), closing at 1,251 points. Liquidity decreased with 367.5 million shares matched on the HOSE floor.
Among the 30 large stocks (VN 30), 17 increased in price: MWG (+1.8%), SSB (+1.8%), POW (+1.7%), MSN (+1.7%), TCB (+1.3%) ... On the contrary, only 6 stocks decreased in price: HDB (-3.9%),FPT (-1.2%), STB (-0.5%), MBB (-0.2%), VJC (-0.1%), BID (-0.1%).
According to Rong Viet Securities (VDSC), the decrease in liquidity on January 8th indicates that supply has cooled down. Although the increase was small, it helped to alleviate some of the negative sentiment after the recent decline. This supportive signal could help the market continue to recover in the coming period.
"Therefore, investors should temporarily maintain a reasonable portfolio weighting to mitigate risks, and may consider short-term purchases of some performing stocks from support price levels," VDSC recommends.
Meanwhile, VCBS Securities Company advises investors to take advantage of recovery sessions to restructure their portfolios. Accordingly, stock market players can sell off stocks that do not yet show a clear recovery trend, and accumulate stocks with the expectation of holding them for the medium to long term at low price levels.
