Prior to their V-League Round 12 clash with SLNA, Hanoi FC's form had plummeted to an alarming level. The capital city team had won only 1 of their last 5 matches, been eliminated from the National Cup, and dropped out of the top 4 in the V-League. The club's leadership took action by appointing Hoang Van Phuc as interim coach to replace Le Duc Tuan, but Van Quyet and his teammates subsequently lost 1-2 to Nam Dinh FC.

Despite being outplayed by their opponents, Hanoi FC still had Van Quyet to break the deadlock. In the 25th minute, the captain, born in 1991, dribbled into the center of the field and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot, successfully beating goalkeeper Van Viet.

Exactly two minutes later, Van Quyet played a through pass to set up newcomer Passira, who raced down to face the SLNA goal. Hanoi FC's 3-0 victory was sealed in the 86th minute by Joao Pedro with a decisive low shot after a through pass from Hung Dung.

By defeating SLNA 3-0, Hanoi FC moved up to fourth place with 20 points after 13 matches. Meanwhile, SLNA is second to last with only 9 points after 12 matches.

In his debut match, coach Hoang Van Phuc suffered a defeat against Nam Dinh, but in his second match since taking over the hot seat, the former Vietnam national team coach could smile with joy.

Van Quyet shared: "This victory is very meaningful to me personally because today is also my grandmother's birthday, and I wanted to dedicate this win to her."
