The family is considered the foundation of society, where character is nurtured and morals and lifestyles are instilled in each individual. In the context of modern society, preserving and promoting the positive traditional values of the family has become more important than ever.
Mr. Hoang Van Pao, former Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Chairman of the Provincial Cultural Heritage Association, stated: In Lang Son, each ethnic community has different concepts, customs, and traditions, but all ethnic groups consider family to be the fundamental element creating happiness. When each family is truly a loving home, a place that nurtures responsible, compassionate, and useful citizens, it is also an important driving force contributing to building a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland.
Recognizing the crucial role of the family in social development, over the years, Party committees and authorities at all levels in the province have consistently prioritized family-related issues with numerous concrete solutions, such as promoting awareness campaigns and establishing family-related models and clubs. During the 2021-2025 period, the province organized thousands of legal awareness sessions on family matters; maintained 102 models for preventing and combating domestic violence, 510 "Sustainable Family Development" clubs, and 226 happy family clubs.
For 2026, with the theme "Happy Family - Prosperous Nation," this year's Vietnamese Family Day continues to spread the message about the close relationship between family happiness and national prosperity. In response to Vietnamese Family Day 2026, and in accordance with Plan No. 74/KH-BCĐ dated April 15, 2026, of the Steering Committee for the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" Movement and Family Affairs of the province, many agencies, units, and residential areas in the province have intensified propaganda efforts through mobile information vehicles, banners, and slogans displayed along main roads and densely populated areas...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh, Party Branch Secretary and Head of Block 7, Tam Thanh Ward, said: In response to this year's Vietnamese Family Day, the Party branch and the Front Committee of the block have intensified propaganda to households on building cultured families, preventing and combating domestic violence; practicing a civilized lifestyle, and maintaining neighborly relations... through Party branch meetings and residential area meetings. To date, the percentage of cultured families in the block has always been above 90%, and there have been no cases of domestic violence.
Along with oral propaganda, many units have diversified their forms of communication by organizing competitions and cultural and artistic exchanges with family themes. For example, the art program commemorating the 25th anniversary of Vietnamese Family Day organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on June 26th; the flower arrangement competition celebrating Vietnamese Family Day with the theme "Building a Happy Family" in 2026 organized by the Provincial Women's Union on June 26th; the launch of digital branch and digital family models at women's branches organized by the Tam Thanh Ward Women's Union; and the online photo contest "Building a Happy Family" organized by the Van Linh Commune Women's Union...
Besides the efforts of the government at all levels, families themselves are constantly raising their awareness of preserving and nurturing happiness, promoting good traditional values, building a civilized and progressive lifestyle, creating a healthy environment for members to develop together, and contributing to building a united and civilized community.
As one of the families that has consistently received the title of "Culturally Exemplary Family" in the locality for many years, despite the many demands of life, the members of Mr. Vu Manh Hai's family, residing on Le Lai Street, Ky Lua Ward, always make time to care for and share joys in their work and studies with each other.
Mr. Hai shared: "In my opinion, family happiness isn't something grand; it begins with love, respect, and responsibility from each member. When husband and wife work together, grandparents and parents set a good example for their children, and generations listen to and share with each other, the family will always be a strong foundation."
Activities in response to Vietnam Family Day 2026 are an opportunity for everyone to further appreciate the sacred values of family; reminding each member of their responsibility to preserve and promote the nation's fine traditions. From family meals, words of encouragement and sharing in daily life to educating children about morality and lifestyle, all contribute to creating happy families.
