Agribank North Thanh Hoa Youth Union members participate in reading at the "Community Bookcase".
Ms. Trinh Thi Kim Lien, Deputy Director of Agribank Nam Thanh Hoa , said: "We believe that a small bookshelf can unlock big dreams. Each individual can contribute a small part to bring books to the community, so that each bookshelf is not only a place to store knowledge but also inspires lifelong learning habits and spirit. From these small bookshelves, after the program ends, the books are donated back to localities and schools, especially in rural and mountainous areas, to build diverse community library models with the goal of fostering a love of books, bringing books closer to everyone, especially those with limited access to books."
The "Community Bookcase" program, implemented by the branches, has attracted enthusiastic participation and support from officials, employees, and customers of Agribank branches in the province. The "Community Bookcase" contains many valuable and interesting books, such as works by President Ho Chi Minh, Party documents, books on political theory, Party history, classic works on Marxism-Leninism, books on economics and state management, and books on culture and society. These books will provide a theoretical foundation, historical knowledge, and development orientation for Party members, helping them grasp the Party's ideology and guidelines, thereby contributing to the building and development of the country. Each year, after the program ends, a portion of the books will be collected, categorized, and donated to local schools and hospitals. This is a meaningful program that fosters cohesion and sharing within the organization and conveys Agribank's positive cultural values to the community.
Furthermore, upholding its role as a community-oriented bank, Agribank branches in the province have implemented numerous sponsorship programs in the field of education over the years, such as donating bookshelves and learning equipment under the "More Literacy, Less Poverty" program in many localities. Specifically, at Ha Ngoc Primary School (Ha Trung commune), despite receiving investment from the State budget, the school still has a great need to upgrade its facilities and equipment to meet teaching and learning requirements, especially in the context of implementing the new general education program. Recognizing the school's needs, Agribank Bac Thanh Hoa donated 13 desktop computers and many textbooks and reference books to the school under the "More Literacy - Less Poverty" program.
This is not only about providing material support, but also about motivating teachers and students to better fulfill their educational mission. Through the implementation of the "More Literacy - Less Poverty" program, Agribank branches in the province hope to create conditions for students to acquire knowledge, read and learn independently, develop their minds, skills and thinking, adopt modern learning methods, apply information technology in teaching and learning, contribute to building and developing the reading movement in schools, maintain and develop a reading culture, and help students overcome difficulties and thrive in life. In addition, banks also implement many meaningful activities such as sponsoring scholarships, building schools and libraries, and supporting education programs... At the same time, they actively participate in developing a reading culture throughout the system through the application of the Digital Library model and social media channels to promptly convey information to all Agribank employees and staff through websites, fan pages, YouTube, communication groups, trade unions, youth unions, etc.
The efforts to promote reading culture by Agribank branches in recent times have contributed to making reading a habit, fostering a reading culture in the digital age, and enhancing the effectiveness of internal communication linked to political and ideological work and the building of Agribank's culture. At the same time, it strongly spreads the message that Agribank, together with the community, honors knowledge and builds an advanced culture rich in national identity.
