The Lang Son Provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion recently organized a conference to promote Lang Son as a tourist destination in 2025 with the theme "Who will come to Lang Son with me…?". Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, attended the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Hoang Xuan Thuan, Director of the Lang Son Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center, said that Lang Son, a borderland at the northernmost point of the country, has the Friendship International Border Gate, one of the most important land border gates connecting Vietnam and ASEAN countries with the vast Chinese market.
This region also boasts many famous landmarks of Vietnamese poetry and tourism, such as Nhi Thanh Cave, Tam Thanh Pagoda, To Thi Mountain, Chi Lang Pass, etc., with hundreds of traditional festivals rich in national identity, attracting great interest from tourists near and far.
“In particular, on September 8, 2024, UNESCO recognized Lang Son Geopark as a Global Geopark, with geological values of international significance, as well as rich and unique cultural and historical heritage and breathtaking natural landscapes, including the majestic beauty of its thousand-year-old cave and stalactite system,” said Mr. Hoang Xuan Thuan.
"Who will go to Lang Son with me?" is also the slogan that Lang Son Tourism wants to introduce to the delegates attending the conference; it's a line from a famous folk song about Lang Son.
“Dong Dang has Ky Lua Street/ There is To Thi, there is Tam Thanh Pagoda/ Whoever goes to Lang Son with me/ It will be worth the effort my parents put into raising me.” This is one of the best folk songs in the series praising the beauty of the country. Not only does it introduce the fascinating beauty of Lang Son, but the lyrics are also a sincere, passionate, yet discreet and delicate declaration of love from a young man to his beloved, and also an invitation for tourists to explore , learn about, and experience Lang Son tourism.
Mr. Hoang Xuan Thuan shared that, over the years, Lang Son's tourism industry has gradually affirmed its important position and role in the province's economic, cultural, and social structure, and the number of tourists visiting Lang Son has increased. However, the province's tourism development is still not commensurate with its potential and advantages, and has not met the requirements to develop it into a key economic sector in accordance with Resolution No. 08 of the Politburo.
At the conference, delegates heard presentations on several tourist attractions and tourism products of Lang Son province, including introductions to tourist spots in Lang Son province, a video introducing tourism in the Lang Son Geopark region, and a video introducing culinary tourism in Lang Son.
At this conference, delegates shared experiences, made constructive contributions, and offered suggestions and directions for effective solutions to help Lang Son tourism develop in a way that is commensurate with the potential and advantages that nature and our ancestors have bestowed upon Lang Son.
This conference aims to introduce to tourists from Hue and the central provinces the beauty of traditional cultural values, natural resources, and unique tourism products of Lang Son province; to provide more information and brand images of Lang Son tourism, with the hope of receiving more attention from tourism associations and businesses in Hue, as well as nationwide, to promote linkages, cooperation, and the exploitation of tour programs for sightseeing, relaxation, tourism exploration, and discovery of the UNESCO Global Geopark Lang Son, thereby promoting the further development of Lang Son tourism.
Also at this conference, leaders of the Lang Son Provincial Tourism Association and the Hue City Tourism Association signed an agreement on cooperation and linkage in building and exploiting package tour programs between travel businesses in Lang Son province and Hue city.
This is to implement the tourism stimulus program in 2025 to promote investment cooperation and tourism promotion between travel businesses in Lang Son province and Hue city; to agree on identifying the parties as cooperative partners to achieve the goal of developing domestic and international tourists using accommodation, dining, sightseeing, and shopping services in Lang Son and Hue city.
