Bring about real change.
In his opening remarks at the Workers' Month, Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor, emphasized the guiding spirit of the General Secretary and President's speech and meeting with workers in the city yesterday (April 27), which is: "Caring for workers is not just about immediate support, but also about creating stable jobs, increasing income, improving living conditions, so that workers can truly feel secure and committed to long-term employment."

At the same time, trade unions must be closer to workers, understand them better, be present promptly when workers face difficulties, and truly be a reliable support for their members. These are major, overarching directions that require trade unions at all levels to innovate strongly, act decisively, and be more effective.
With that spirit in mind, the City Federation of Labor Unions has determined that Workers' Month is not just a peak period of activity, but must create substantial and sustainable changes throughout the year. During this year's Workers' Month, the City Federation of Labor Unions will focus on implementing seven key programs. These include: the "Creative Workers – Confidently Stepping into a New Era" program – promoting the emulation movement of skilled and creative labor; the "Thank You to Workers" program; the "May Dialogue" program; the program to care for union members' welfare; the program to develop union membership and establish grassroots unions; the program to improve the spiritual life of workers, organizing cultural, artistic, and sports activities; and building a healthy and cohesive working environment for workers.

In particular, the program focuses on providing sustainable housing and living conditions for workers, in coordination with agencies and businesses: promoting the development of social housing and worker accommodation, supporting access to healthcare and education , and gradually improving the long-term living conditions for workers.
"To ensure that Workers' Month truly spreads widely, the Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labor Unions calls on all levels of trade unions to be proactive, creative, and close to the grassroots; for businesses to care for and support workers; and for all levels and sectors to coordinate and provide effective support. Because caring for workers is an investment in the sustainable development of the city."
Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan emphasized.
Spreading the spirit of innovation and creativity.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Thai Thu Xuong, emphasized that for the 2026 Workers' Month to spread widely and bring practical results, all levels of trade unions must focus on genuine care and attention to the grassroots. Activities must be focused and targeted, not merely 형식적인 (formalistic), and workers must be at the center of all trade union and enterprise activities.

Furthermore, since Workers' Month is linked to the "Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health," businesses need to build a culture of occupational safety, protecting the health and lives of workers, viewing people as valuable assets of the business. This respect aims to unleash the hidden creativity in each worker to improve labor productivity, create internal cohesion, and ensure sustainable development for the business.

"Management innovation must always go hand in hand with creative innovation and must become the driving force for development; labor productivity is the measure of efficiency; and the spirit of 'Innovation and Creativity' must be spread, contributing to improving the quality of human resources in the digital age," Ms. Thai Thu Xuong emphasized.
