After implementing a collaborative sugarcane farming model in Phong Quang commune and recognizing its effectiveness, Thuy Vinh Bao Co., Ltd. expanded the scale of sugarcane cultivation to Ngoc Linh commune, covering a total area of ​​25 hectares in Coc Tho and Tan Phong villages. The export-oriented sugarcane farming model is implemented where farmers provide land and labor, while the company provides support from land preparation, seed purchase, planting, fertilization, and harvesting. When the sugarcane is harvested, the company purchases it from the farmers at 1.2 million VND per ton, and the farmers receive 100% of the proceeds. Mr. Pham Vo Quan, from Thuy Vinh Bao Co., Ltd., said: “Recognizing the potential of Ngoc Linh commune in terms of land and climate, and to utilize the land of people growing less productive crops, we, together with the commune , introduced sugarcane varieties for cultivation. Sugarcane is easy to care for, drought-resistant, and with proper cultivation techniques, it will develop into high-quality crops. In addition, we introduced machinery to support cultivation, reducing the labor burden for the people.”

Across the hillsides, people are busily clearing undergrowth and fertilizing newly planted sugarcane, hoping for a bountiful harvest. Each person has a task, and we can feel the atmosphere of urgent and lively labor. Mr. Dang Van Hao, from Khuoi Kha village, Ngoc Linh commune, shared: “The commune's introduction of sugarcane cultivation here has created jobs and income for us people. Personally, I earn an average of 300-350 thousand dong per day.”

Ngoc Linh commune has actively expanded its production scale through linkages with a model of growing sugarcane for export. It has developed a commodity-based agricultural system, encouraging people to introduce new, high-quality crop varieties into production. To develop raw material areas for the processing industry, a strong link has been created between businesses and producers, promoting the comprehensive agricultural restructuring program in the commune. Mr. Giang Seo Nhi, Vice Chairman of the Ngoc Linh Commune People's Committee, stated: “This is the first year the commune has introduced new crops into production, aiming to utilize barren hillside land and areas with low-yield crops to cultivate high-yield varieties. This linkage has also been supported by the people because agricultural production based on chain linkages is a sustainable approach.”

Expanding cultivated areas through production linkages has created many advantages for the people, overcoming the fragmented and small-scale production situation, moving towards the formation of large raw material areas, and making an important contribution to the sustainable development of agricultural production. In the coming time, the commune will continue to plan and create land reserves to attract businesses to invest in large-scale agriculture, applying high technology, contributing to increasing people's income.
