Based on the actual needs in the aquaculture area, households have joined together to establish a cooperative group (THT) for clean shrimp and crab farming in Kinh Tu hamlet, with 17 members and an area of ​​over 40 hectares. Here, members of the group are not only supported in the production and consumption of products but also have the opportunity to learn techniques, exchange experiences with each other, improve knowledge, update market information, support production capital, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides at reasonable prices...

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Chieu, Head of the Cooperative, said: “Since joining the Cooperative, I and other members of the Cooperative have attended training courses on shrimp and crab farming processes from the nursery stage, care to harvest. Each year, the Cooperative raises an average of 200-300 tons of clean shrimp and crab for sale. At the same time, the Cooperative produces large quantities of concentrated products, according to clean standards, signs contracts to purchase products with businesses, and has higher selling prices, without being forced down by traders.”

By participating in the clean shrimp and crab farming cooperative, members of the group are not only supported with output and techniques but also have access to low-interest revolving capital. Accordingly, each member contributes a small portion to create a revolving fund to lend to members for production in a revolving form without collateral, with simple procedures.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nam, Kinh Tu hamlet, a member of the cooperative, shared: “Previously, I was a small-scale producer and had many difficulties in accessing capital to invest in production. Borrowing from the bank was complicated, and borrowing from outside had high interest rates and high risks. Since borrowing 5 million VND from the revolving fund with low interest rates, I have been able to manage the crop. Every year, after deducting expenses, my family earns about 80 million VND, thanks to which the family economy is more stable, with a little extra for reinvestment. I hope that the cooperative will continue to develop, helping more households to become prosperous.”

For Cai Bat Cooperative, through the process of operation and development, from helping people change the fragmented and small-scale production method, applying technical advances in production according to the process of creating a safe product chain according to VietGAP and ASC standards. In addition, the Cooperative also diversifies service industries such as purchasing, producing, building brands associated with key products of local agriculture , achieving 3-star OCOP certification including dried shrimp, shrimp crackers, fish cakes, live crabs; frozen tiger prawns in particular achieve 4-star OCOP. Products are produced according to clean processes and have clear traceability.
