Apple's big iPhone launch event is just days away, with the announcement of the all-new iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Air models aimed at luring users to upgrade. While the iPhone Air features a super-slim design, the 17 Pro will likely have a brand new battery advantage, including reverse wireless charging.
Bloomberg previously wrote about Apple's major upgrade plan within 3 years, first in 2025 with the appearance of the above two lines. The iPhone 17 Air attracts attention with its thinness, lightness, and a bit of futuristic style, but has to trade off battery, camera and many other factors.
In contrast, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will continue to demonstrate the strength of the flagship phone line with durable battery life. Not only dominating in battery, these two models are predicted to possess outstanding features.
Rumor tipster Fixed Focus Digital has revealed that Apple is testing a new reverse wireless charging feature for the iPhone 17 Pro. The feature was last mentioned by Instant Digital in February. Depending on how Apple implements it, the feature could allow users to charge their AirPods, Apple Watch, or even another iPhone with just their iPhone 17 Pro.
There have been countless rumors over the years about the iPhone getting reverse wireless charging. But according to 9to5Mac , there are reasons to believe it could actually happen this year.
First, Apple needs to differentiate the iPhone 17 Pro line, as the iPhone 17 Air has already attracted attention with its novel design and affordable price. The Pro version will have many exclusive features to convince users to pay more.
In addition, the mock-up designs show that Apple is adjusting the logo position on the back of the iPhone 17 series. The Apple logo will be placed lower than usual. The reason for this design may be to accommodate the reverse wireless charging feature, by placing another device on the logo to start charging.
Finally, iOS 26 will bring a bunch of new battery-related features, like Adaptive Power, which automatically adjusts factors when the battery is low, or shows battery consumption statistics. This further strengthens the possibility of a new battery feature like reverse wireless charging being implemented.
