At around 19:XNUMX p.m., a fishing boat parked at Mui Ne beach, Phan Thiet City, about one kilometer from the mainland, caught fire. At this time, the wind was strong and the fire rose high, covering the entire ship.
Ships anchored nearby ran away to avoid being hit by the fire. Mui Ne Border Guard Station sent forces on duty during Tet to support fishermen and prevent fire spread.
The ship in distress was later determined to belong to Ba Ria - Vung Tau fishermen anchored in Mui Ne after a year-end fishing trip. When the fire broke out, two crew members on the ship jumped into the sea to escape.
Local authorities are determining the cause of the fire.
