Huong sticky rice gives high profit

According to the Center for Application of Science, Technology and Innovation, the Huong sticky rice variety has a higher yield of over 8 quintals/ha compared to the control sticky rice variety N97.

The results of the actual test by the Center for Application of Science, Technology and Innovation (Department of Science and Technology) show that, compared to the control rice variety N97, Huong sticky rice has a growing period of 120 - 123 days, 3 - 5 days shorter than the N97 variety.

Although they have similar tillering ability, Huong sticky rice has more advantages: large, long panicles, low amount of empty grains, high total number of grains per panicle, number of solid grains per panicle and high grain weight.

Huong sticky rice has a shorter growing period than N97 sticky rice, large, long panicles, and firm grains.

The yield of Huong sticky rice variety reaches nearly 7 tons/ha, higher than 8 tons/ha, equivalent to economic efficiency nearly 10 million VND/ha higher than the N97 variety.

In addition, Huong sticky rice has a hard stem and good resistance to lodging when it rains heavily, helping farmers save time tying rice. Its ability to resist neck blast disease is very good, many times higher than that of N97.

Huong sticky rice variety brings higher economic efficiency than the control sticky rice variety N97 by nearly 10 million VND/ha.

In the spring crop of 2025, the center has deployed a model of growing Huong sticky rice on a total area of ​​30 hectares, in the communes of Ung Hoe (Ninh Giang), Tan Viet (Binh Giang) and Ngu Phuc (Kim Thanh).
