Son fled when confronted by his two wives.
In episode 8 of "Life Is Still Beautiful," which aired on April 18th, Sơn (Hoàng Du Ka) and Luyến (Thanh Hương), after returning from 8 years of disappearance, had a heart-to-heart conversation. Luyến wanted Sơn to move in with her and her mother, but Sơn kept citing work as an excuse to refuse.
Being taken shopping on a date by Son, Luyen was overjoyed. She said, "I never dreamed that one day we would be walking hand in hand as husband and wife." Seeing Luyen's happy smile, Son suddenly remembered the difficult times they had gone through together.
Son took Luyen shopping.
When Son took Luyen out to eat, she excitedly said, "I often come up here with my mother to sell cakes, but we don't get to sit and eat like this." Hearing Son say he would repay the money she had paid him, Luyen happily daydreamed, "Now that we're living together, what will you give me? Oh, you want to give me some money to keep, right? I'll keep it, but I won't spend it. I want to save it for our child."
Seeing Luyen dreaming of a happy life, Son couldn't bring himself to tell her the truth about his current situation. However, while the two were strolling romantically, they unexpectedly encountered Yen, Son's new wife, and their daughter. Hearing their daughter call out Son's name and run to her father, Luyen was utterly astonished. At this point, Yen had to coax their daughter to follow her mother so that her father could continue working with his "business partner."
However, when faced with both women who were his wives, Son avoided them by taking his daughter to buy balloons. At this point, Yen also quietly left, leaving Luyen heartbroken, standing stunned and in tears in the middle of the street. Thinking back on the years of hardship and feeling sorry for herself, Luyen could only cry.

Luyen was driven to madness with grief upon discovering she had been deceived.
Son tried to explain, but Luyen refused to listen. Knowing that Mrs. Tinh (Meritorious Artist Thanh Quy) already knew everything, Luyen was even more heartbroken because she never imagined that the mother-in-law she had loved and cared for all this time would deceive her.
Luyen cried out, "So you all knew everything! You and your mother deceived me. I was stupid, I was naive to believe you. What did I do wrong to be treated like this?" Luyen reproached Son, "Who took care of your mother all these years, so that now you can be happy with your wife and children, and abandon me?"
Seeing that Luyen was so distraught that she couldn't remain calm, Son decided to take his mother to meet his new wife, but Yen had already returned to Ho Chi Minh City with her daughter.
Knowing Luyen was suffering, Luu (Meritorious Artist Hoang Hai) came to comfort her and invited her to drink to drown her sorrows. Luyen snatched the bottle of wine Luu was holding, drinking and weeping over her fate, over her dreams of a happy life with Son, because she knew that dream was "over, truly over."
Luyen was heartbroken when she discovered she had been deceived.
In another development, Luu went all the way to his son's part-time job just to see Thach (Viet Hoang). Luu was happy that his son had grown up and cared about his father's health. But while rejoicing at his son's concern, Luu was bumped into by Thach's roommate, causing his phone to fall. Seeing this, the roommate quickly apologized and picked up the phone to return it to Luu, only to discover a picture of Thach on it.
Will her friend discover that Luu is Thach's biological father? How will Luyen handle the deception from her mother-in-law and husband? After his new wife leaves, will Son return to Luyen? The answers will be revealed in the upcoming episodes of "Life Is Still Beautiful" airing on VTV3 every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening.
