Football has always been the top priority for the Vietnamese-born star currently playing for Quang Ninh FC. However, after strenuous training and matches, pickleball helps him relax and play with his wife, children, and friends.
I love pickleball as much as I love football.
When asked why he loves pickleball, Mac Hong Quan recalled: "Last year, after listening to a close friend excitedly talk about pickleball, I became really curious. So I grabbed my racket and went to the court right away. At first, I just thought I'd try it for fun, but the more I played, the more I wanted to learn about this sport. I fell in love with pickleball without even realizing it. Now, whenever I have free time, I grab my racket and head to the court."
In the world of showbiz and sports , everyone knows that this player, who grew up in the Czech Republic, is passionate about pickleball, partly thanks to his supermodel wife, Ky Han. Not only is she "addicted" to this currently trending sport, Ky Han also idolizes world number one pickleball star Ben Johns and tennis legend Andre Agassi – who is now also very involved with pickleball.
Mạc Hồng Quân's wife is "crazy" about pickleball, and he's been significantly influenced by her. "Kỳ Hân could never play any sport for more than three days. But since she started playing pickleball, she's been diligently playing for hours on the court every day. Kỳ Hân's injury shocked the entire pickleball community; even I was scared when I saw it. But even after the surgery, she still asked, 'Doctor, when can I play pickleball again?'" - Mạc Hồng Quân recalled.
Pickleball holds a strange fascination for Mac Hong Quan. Since playing pickleball, he has reconnected with many old friends, in addition to forming new friendships through friendly matches. They not only train and compete together, but also readily help each other with life's challenges. The young father, Mac Hong Quan, is also happy because every weekend, he and his wife have the opportunity to play together as a family on the pickleball court, fostering a passion and love for the sport in their children.

I want to experience it.
Mac Hong Quan registered for the "Circle of Love" pickleball tournament very early, not just in one but in two events as allowed by the regulations. Initially, he wanted to compete with his wife in the guest event for artists. However, due to Ky Han's health condition, he had to ask his wife's sister, Cam Van, to compete in the mixed doubles event for artists and celebrities.
Besides participating in friendly matches in the artists and celebrities category, Mac Hong Quan also decided to compete in the men's doubles professional category with his friend Tran Minh Dung. He expressed: "I participated in the tournament because I wanted to gain experience, as it's not every day that you get the chance to play against real players. However, the most important thing is that the tournament organized by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper is entirely for charitable purposes, helping many people in need. This is an opportunity for me to contribute a small part to this humanitarian activity for the community."
Due to his busy schedule training and competing in football, Mac Hong Quan admits that he only understands the rules and knows how to play pickleball, his skill level is "just average". Mac Hong Quan says that every time he steps onto the field, he always craves to execute impressive shots and beautiful plays, to satisfy his own desire for self-improvement rather than to gain attention from others.
Whenever he has time, Mac Hong Quan takes up pickleball and is able to be himself in this individual combat sport. Fans believe in that and will wait to see how this footballer showcases his pickleball skills at the "Circle of Love" tournament.
Ky Han supports her husband in a special way.
Unable to compete, supermodel Ky Han said she would still be in the stands to cheer on her husband. Ky Han also supported the "Circle of Love" Pickleball Tournament in her own way: by giving gifts to the three teams that won first, second, and third place in the artist category, each receiving two sets of pickleball outfits designed by herself.
Ky Han's pickleball fashion brand "Icon Basic" will also award two prizes, King and Queen, each consisting of a set of clothing for the male and female athletes in the artist category who are voted "King and Queen" of the "Circle of Love" pickleball competition.
The registration fee for participating in the competition is 1 million VND per pair. In all categories, the prize for first place is 6 million VND and a trophy; second place is 4 million VND and a medal; and third place (shared) is 2 million VND and a medal. In addition, the Organizing Committee will award additional gifts, depending on the actual situation.
Prior to the registration deadline at the end of December 8th, the Organizing Committee requests that pairs of athletes who have not yet registered, or who have registered but have not yet transferred the registration fee, please do so as soon as possible to ensure their names are included in the official competition list. On December 10th, the Organizing Committee will conduct the draw for the group stage.
