According to talkSPORT , the Etihad Stadium club is considering sharing the wages with clubs interested in loaning Walker and Grealish during this summer's transfer window. Both players earn high salaries at Man City and are unwilling to take pay cuts if they move to a new club.
The Guardian reports that Walker has agreed to join Everton next season. However, the club has not yet reached an agreement with Man City on a permanent transfer or a 12-month loan deal. Previously, Fulham also expressed interest in Walker but could not meet his salary demands.
Grealish attracted interest from Napoli, as the Serie A champions were looking for a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in attack. However, Napoli could not meet Grealish's £300,000-a-week salary at Etihad.
This means Man City will have to pay a portion, possibly up to 50%, of the England international's salary for the deal to go through.
Aston Villa is another potential destination for Grealish. However, the English midfielder has yet to receive an offer from his former club. Aston Villa's current budget is also considered insufficient to cover Grealish's full salary.
Grealish and Walker both won numerous titles with Man City. However, manager Pep Guardiola implemented a drastic overhaul after the disappointing 2024/25 season. The arrival of a host of new signings in recent times has caused these two stars to lose their places.
