Man Utd put Antony up for sale.

Manchester United are ready to negotiate if any team makes an offer to buy midfielder Antony, who joined the "Red Devils" for a transfer fee of $109 million.

According to British and Spanish media, Manchester United are unlikely to recoup half of the transfer fee they paid for the player 18 months ago. Due to Antony's loss of confidence, the club is prepared to incur a significant loss. However, the Brazilian international's recent performances are unlikely to attract interest from other clubs.

Antony left Ajax to join Manchester United on the final day of the 2022 summer transfer window for a fee of $109 million, the second highest in the club's history after Paul Pogba. The 24-year-old midfielder performed reasonably well in the early part of last season, but has declined since then. He hasn't scored in the Premier League in the last 320 days. This season, the former Ajax midfielder has yet to score or provide an assist in 20 league matches.

Antony's decline has led even manager Erik ten Hag to drop his defense, despite having brought his former Ajax protégé to Old Trafford. In the most recent match, a 1-2 defeat to Fulham, Antony was benched in favor of 20-year-old striker Omari Forson. According to Spanish newspaper Fichajes , Manchester United are willing to sell Antony for a transfer fee of $55 million. However, fans are concerned that no team will be willing to pay this amount for the 24-year-old midfielder. His contract with Man Utd expires in summer 2027, but currently no team is interested in the midfielder.

Antony is among a group of more than 10 players who could be sold if the club receives a reasonable offer in the summer of 2024. In addition, Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, and Tom Heaton will have their contracts expire at the end of the season and are unlikely to be renewed. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, and Facundo Pellistri also have only one year left on their contracts, and the club has no intention of signing new ones.
