"Fat Cat" Doraemon dominates Vietnamese cinemas.

Just days after its release in Vietnam, "Doraemon: Nobita and the Ideal Land in the Sky" has continuously broken box office records and surpassed a series of Hollywood blockbusters.

The film was released during the summer – a time when moviegoers tend to increase significantly.

According to distributor CJ CGV, the 42nd Doraemon film has officially become the highest-grossing anime of all time in Vietnam.

Specifically, after two days of sneak previews and ten days of official release, Doraemon: Nobita and the Ideal Land in the Sky has grossed nearly 60 billion VND with approximately 770,000 viewers. This achievement helps the film surpass the 25th Conan film released last year, claiming the top spot among Japanese animated films at the Vietnamese box office.

Notably, Doraemon Part 42 took less than two weeks to reach this milestone. Immediately after its release in Vietnam, the film surpassed the blockbuster Fast X to take the top spot at the box office. This past weekend, the film continued to hold the number one position in the overall box office rankings despite the appearance of many new competitors.

According to Box Office Vietnam, the revenue of Doraemon: Nobita and the Ideal Land in the Sky is currently 55.4 billion VND (this figure may differ slightly from the actual amount). On the morning of June 5th alone, the film earned nearly 1 billion VND, surpassing even Spider-Man: Space Travels.

The 42nd Doraemon film has officially become the highest-grossing anime of all time in Vietnam.

Doraemon: Nobita and the Ideal Land in the Sky has completely new content. The film tells the story of Nobita and his friends as they journey to an ideal kingdom in the sky called Paradapia.

Here, the group meets the perfect robot cat Sonya and together they explore life "flawless" in this place. However, as the secrets behind Paradapia gradually unfold, the group must act together to protect the safety of the entire world .

The project is helmed by Doyama Takumi, who previously directed a special episode of Doraemon. Meanwhile, Furusawa Ryota is the scriptwriter. He has penned scripts for many popular and award-winning television series throughout his career.
