Microsoft has released a new update for Windows 11.

Microsoft has just released a major update for the Windows 11 operating system, including the Copilot chatbot with many features similar to OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Copilot is Microsoft's new AI-generated chatbot that can create text and other content like a human using a few keywords. The Copilot chatbot is based on a large-scale language model (LLM) that OpenAI has trained from numerous datasets to compose emails, answer questions, and automate tasks on Windows, combined with information from websites.

AI chatbots will help power the world's most popular computer operating system. Meanwhile, Microsoft will begin selling Microsoft 365 Copilot, an AI utility for users of its office suite, later this week.

Features exclusive to Windows Copilot computers include the ability to open applications, switch to dark mode, turn on Bluetooth, and take screenshots.

When you open a website in the Edge browser, the Copilot chatbot will summarize what's on the page. On Apple Macs, users can chat with Siri, but the assistant's responses aren't as detailed as Windows Copilot.

According to data from research firm StatCounter, Windows 11 currently holds approximately 24% of the desktop computer market share, while Windows 10 – which will be supported until October 2025 – holds 72%. According to CEO Satya Nadella, Microsoft is seeing rapid global deployment from companies such as BP, Eurowings, Kantar, and RBC.

The Windows operating system still plays a crucial role for the American tech giant, contributing one-tenth of its total revenue. Microsoft wants Windows to maintain this position because it is the foundation for Microsoft 365 and also a springboard for the growth of its Azure cloud service.

In addition to Copilot, Microsoft brings new features to the Windows 11 2023 Update (23H2) such as a virtual video editor, smart screenshot (allowing you to copy text from screenshots), power saving (turning off the screen when not looking at it), and AI integration for the Paint application (entering certain characters for Paint to create images)...

To update to Microsoft Windows 23H2, users should go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for Updates.
