According to MSPowerUser , the upcoming Windows 10 update is said to be installed much faster than usual, which is due to Microsoft reducing the size of the operating system updates. The larger the update size, the longer it will take to download the related files, especially if you have an unstable connection.
Windows 10 update speed will be improved thanks to reduced size
Specifically, the report points out that the new Windows 10 cumulative update is different from previous updates when it comes to size. Typically, update packages are around 830 MB, but the upcoming number will be only 650 MB, a 20% reduction. This does not mean that the updates will install 20% faster, but instead users will notice a clear difference in overall processing time.
This is noteworthy information because in the past, every time a user updated Windows, it would usually take a few minutes if they had a powerful PC and a good internet connection. In the case of a low-configuration PC and a slow internet connection, the update process could take even longer and force users to carefully adjust the update schedule to avoid affecting their work on the computer.
This improvement is primarily intended to benefit users with slower-than-average internet connections. The update has been available since April 23 and should be available to everyone soon. Microsoft is currently working on a method called UPP that promises to significantly reduce update speeds on Windows 10 and 11 PCs.
