DRAMATIC MATCH AT CAN THO STADIUM

Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance aimed for a win to overtake their direct competitor. A draw would give them 7 points, giving them a good chance of qualifying for the play-off round as the best-performing second-placed team.
The "final" match of Group 2 was exciting, with both teams playing without mercy. Van Hien University asserted their dominance by taking the lead, then securing a 2-0 victory in the final minute of injury time. Winning all three matches, Van Hien University advanced to the play-off round, ready to compete for a spot in the 2025 THACO Student Tournament Finals.
Also yesterday, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry team won 3-2 against the Gia Dinh University team, securing first place in Group 3 and a spot in the play-off round with an impressive record of winning all 3 matches. Thus, at this point, the Ho Chi Minh City region has determined 3 teams that have officially secured play-off spots: Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, Van Hien University, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry.
SOUTHEASTERN REGION DETERMINES 2 SEMI-FINAL PAIRS
The Southeast region group stage concluded yesterday at Bau Thanh Stadium (Long Dat District, Ba Ria-Vung Tau), determining the four teams that advanced to the semi-finals. Dong Nai University of Technology's 11-0 victory over Lilama 2 International College of Technology not only secured them first place in Group 2 but also helped Lac Hong University revive its fortunes and advance thanks to a better goal difference than Lilama 2 International College of Technology.
In Group 1, the Ba Ria-Vung Tau University team defeated the Sonadezi College of Technology and Management team 6-0 to take first place with 6 points. They will face Lac Hong University in the semi-finals of the Southeast region qualifiers at 4 PM on January 10th. In the other semi-final, the Binh Duong University team will face the Group 1 winner, the Dong Nai University of Technology team. The two winning teams from the two semi-final matches will play the final match at 3:30 PM on January 12th to select the single representative from the Southeast region to participate in the finals in Ho Chi Minh City.
