Militao speaks out to refute rumors from the Brazilian media. |
Eder Militao has officially broken his silence after days of being embroiled in a personal scandal involving Vinicius Junior. The Real Madrid defender posted a statement on social media to deny all the accusations circulating in Brazil.
Earlier, journalist Leo Dias caused a stir when he revealed that Vinicius and Militao were suspected of hiring prostitutes from Piracicaba to travel to Madrid.
Despite Vinicius's advisor asserting that the women paid for their own travel and were only traveling with the players' group of friends, Militao's name continues to be mentioned repeatedly.
The situation gained even more attention when Virginia Fonseca, Vinicius's girlfriend, unexpectedly confirmed her breakup with the Real Madrid striker on May 15th. The influencer stated that she chose to end the relationship respectfully rather than continue when things no longer made sense.
Amidst the controversy, Militao asserted that all information related to him was "false and without any evidence." "I am fully focused on my recovery from injury and on my family, especially my pregnant wife," the Brazilian defender shared.
Militao also admitted that the pressure from public opinion has severely affected his personal life. He said he almost doesn't dare go out alone because of the spread of baseless accusations.
The Real Madrid star has demanded that anyone making accusations provide concrete evidence instead of relying on speculation or fabricated stories on the internet. The 28-year-old defender is currently recovering from a torn hamstring and will miss the 2026 World Cup with the Brazilian national team.
He concluded his statement with a call for "respect, responsibility, and empathy," while emphasizing that his family was being severely affected by the incident.
