On the afternoon of October 27th, at a media meeting, Minh Dự spoke for the first time about the controversies surrounding him and producer Phan Đạt recently.
Minh Dự shared that he was invited by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications to receive an official document two days ago. "According to the response, Phan Minh Đạt asserted that he is the owner of the Facebook account 'Phan Đạt'. Secondly, Phan Minh Đạt affirmed that the information and content posted on his personal account did not mention or relate to me."
"Ultimately, Phan Minh Dat proactively removed the posts he had published because he realized that the content was affecting the lives of other individuals and groups," the actor said.
Minh Dự stated that he and his family have been severely affected by the recent controversies.
Minh Dự explained that the reason for filing a complaint with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications stemmed from being attacked by multiple accounts with harsh comments on social media.
The actor said that his health, mental state, and work have been severely affected. He even couldn't sleep because of fear and anxiety.
Furthermore, his relatives and family were also negatively affected. They felt sad and depressed during the days following the incident.
"I don't dare meet or talk to my relatives. My parents are very upset. When I leave the house, neighbors and relatives always ask my parents about the information I've seen online. I feel guilty towards my parents," the actor shared.
In addition, projects and brands working with Minh Dự have also been affected to some extent. “After the press conference this afternoon, I will immediately send my response along with the official letter from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications to my partners. I hope they will continue to cooperate and use my image,” he said.
When asked about his current relationship with Phuong Lan, Minh Du affirmed that they remain friends and maintain a good relationship both on and off stage. However, the actor avoided answering reporters' questions about his relationship with Phan Dat, Phuong Lan's husband: "After the incident, I was hurt and needed time to heal. I don't know what the future holds, but right now, I have no other desires."
Minh Dự continued: "After the incident, I still haven't received an apology from Phan Đạt. I regret it because we used to be friends."
The actor said he learned many lessons from those events.
"Learning to be a good person is a lifelong endeavor. No one is perfect. Everyone has flaws and mistakes. Even at this point, I still have mistakes and shortcomings. My biggest lesson is to handle everything calmly," he expressed.
Previously, producer Phan Dat's series of posts exposing Minh Du sparked much discussion among viewers. In his posts, he mentioned Minh Du, Nam Thu, Hoang Phi, and several other artists. After being named, Minh Du took concrete action. On the evening of October 2nd, the actor announced that he and his team were gathering evidence to proceed with legal action.
By the afternoon of October 17th, at the regular meeting of the Ho Chi Minh City Press Center, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications responded to Tri Thuc - Znews regarding the handling of the case where Minh Du filed a complaint against producer Phan Dat for publishing unverified articles and spreading false rumors that negatively impacted his image and work. A representative from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications stated that they had met with both Phan Dat and Minh Du. After consolidating the case file and conducting further investigations, the Department's Inspectorate has not yet reached a decision on the matter.
