A representative from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications stated that they will summon Nam Thu for questioning regarding the recent press conference organized by the actress.
During a regular press briefing at the Ho Chi Minh City Press Center, Ms. Pham Dac My Tran, Head of the Press Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications, responded to information related to the incident. Nam Thu They held a press conference on the afternoon of August 5th.

A representative from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications stated that, based on media reports, the Department had become aware of Nam Thu's planned press conference. However, upon checking, the Department found no application for a press conference permit from the actress.
Ms. My Tran said that the Department had sent an invitation to actress Nam Thu to come in for a meeting to discuss related matters. According to the schedule, the meeting will take place on August 9th.
"We invited Nam Thu to clarify the recent media meeting. The results of the meeting will be announced to the press soon," Ms. Tran said.
During the press conference, Ms. My Tran also stated that there have been several cases recently of organizations holding press conferences to provide information. This behavior is aimed at avoiding the need to obtain permission to hold press conferences.

According to Clauses 1 and 3 of Article 41 of the 2016 Press Law: Vietnamese agencies, organizations, and citizens organizing press conferences must notify the state management agency for the press in writing at least 24 hours before the planned press conference.
"Therefore, the case of agencies, organizations, or citizens holding press conferences without obtaining permission from competent state management agencies constitutes a violation specifically stipulated in Article 11 of Decree No. 119/2020/ND-CP dated October 7, 2020 (amended and supplemented by Decree No. 14/2022/ND-CP dated January 27, 2022) regulating administrative sanctions for violations in journalistic and publishing activities," the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications stated.
Regarding solutions to prevent unauthorized press conferences, the authorities stated that coordination from multiple parties is necessary. Authorities need to strengthen legal awareness campaigns, inspections, supervision, detection, and handling of violations.
Media outlets should widely disseminate information to the public and organizations to ensure they understand the relevant legal regulations. In addition, businesses and venue rental companies should also be aware of the law and require event organizers to provide official approval for press conferences from government agencies. Any violations discovered must be reported promptly to the relevant authorities.
"Upon detecting violations, authorities have the right to stop the press conference as stipulated in Clause 6, Article 41 of the 2016 Press Law. They also have the authority to handle administrative violations afterwards," a representative from the Department of Information and Communications stated.

Earlier, Nam Thư held a press conference to clarify the controversies surrounding her private life.
During the meeting, Nam Thu denied being the third party interfering in the romantic relationship of a married man. The actress also affirmed that there were no sensitive videos or images of Nam Thu directly using drugs (stimulants) with a person named Luan and another artist.
Nam Thu said she was severely affected in terms of her honor, reputation, and work, as well as that of her company. The actress suffered significant losses from canceled media and advertising contracts, amounting to billions of VND.
Through her legal representative, Nam Thư is filing a complaint against the "Zyy Doo" account – which has repeatedly attacked her on social media – as well as other related individuals and entities, in order to protect the rights of artists under her company.
