Reopening direct flight Hanoi - Moscow

(NLDO)- After 3 years of interruption, Vietnam Airlines will restore direct flights from Hanoi to Moscow (Russia) from May 8, 2025.

In the initial phase, Vietnam Airlines will operate the route with a frequency of 2 flights/week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, using wide-body Boeing 787 aircraft. From July 2026, it will increase to 3 flights/week to meet the increasing travel needs of passengers.

Vietnam Airlines will operate direct flights from Hanoi to Moscow using wide-body Boeing 787 aircraft.

On the occasion of its opening, Vietnam Airlines is offering many attractive promotions, including round-trip tickets from Hanoi to Moscow starting from only VND 16,419,000 (including taxes and fees). In addition, customers will receive a 50% discount on the first prepaid baggage item and a 30% discount on pre-selected seats.

Golden Lotus members who purchase tickets and depart between May 8 and June 30, 2025 will receive special bonus miles, with 1,000 bonus miles and 1,000 qualifying miles/leg for Economy class, and 2,000 bonus miles and 2,000 qualifying miles/leg for Business class.

The above programs apply to tickets issued from March 15, 2025 to May 31, 2025 and flying between May 8, 2025 and May 31, 2025. Passengers can book tickets via the website, mobile application, ticket offices and official agents of Vietnam Airlines.

Russia has always been one of the key markets for Vietnam's tourism and trade. In 2024, the total number of visitors between the two countries will reach more than 220,000, an increase of more than 2.3 times compared to 2023, but still only 26% compared to 2019. This event also marks an important milestone in Vietnam Airlines' international flight network development strategy, especially on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Airlines Corporation.

Vietnam Airlines General Director Le Hong Ha said that up to now, Vietnam Airlines has resumed all routes and recently opened 7 more international routes. Currently, Vietnam Airlines has operated more than 90 destinations in the world, including 60 domestic destinations and 30 international destinations, connecting with more than 20 countries, along with many promotional activities, trade promotion, introducing the image of the country and people of Vietnam to international friends.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airlines Dang Ngoc Hoa shared that in the difficult context, Vietnam Airlines still expands its global flight network because it is well aware that wherever Vietnam Airlines planes fly, our "soft borders" expand.

It is expected that in 2025, Vietnam Airlines will open and restore 15 new international routes to important destinations such as Italy, Russia, Denmark, China, India, Japan, South Korea, UAE...
