Ensuring project progress and quality.
The project to renovate and upgrade Provincial Road 183 has a total length of 36.5 km, with the Provincial Project Management Board for Investment and Construction as the investor, and a total capital of nearly 300 billion VND. The project is designed to mountainous road standards (Class IV), with a roadbed width of 7.5m; an asphalt surface width of 6.5m; and shoulders of 0.5m on each side. The road surface is of high-grade A1, with a 7cm thick asphalt concrete layer on a crushed stone base; the project includes the construction of 7 new reinforced concrete bridges, the repair of 3 bridges; and a longitudinal and transverse drainage system and other traffic safety support works.
Construction began in April 2023. To date, most of the key components of the DT.183 road have been completed. On the section from Km17 to Km50+200, the entire 32.7 km of road surface has been paved smoothly with asphalt, and a new bridge connects the riverbanks. Currently, the contractor is focusing on accelerating the progress of some remaining tasks, with the volume estimated at 95%. The 3.81 km section from Pho Cao, Dong Yen commune to the border with Luc Yen has also been completed 100%. The total capital allocated for the project until 2025 is over 201 billion VND, reaching 67.1%.
Comrade Luong Van Doan, Director of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, stated: Despite facing numerous difficulties regarding land clearance, weather conditions, funding, and materials, the investor and contractors have persevered, strived, and been determined to ensure the project's progress, quality, technical standards, and specifications. The total construction value has exceeded the allocated capital. In addition to mobilizing manpower and equipment for overtime work, the Management Board will coordinate with relevant agencies and units to complete all project-related matters as soon as possible.
The path of faith and the desire for change.
These days, along the DT.183 road from Dong Yen, Tien Yen, Xuan Giang, Bang Lang communes to Quang Binh commune, joy abounds everywhere. After years of anticipation, this vital transportation route has been upgraded and expanded, bringing with it hope and expectations of change for the ethnic communities in this area.
Mr. Hoang Van Lam, from Tinh village, Xuan Giang commune, shared: “Previously, the road was dilapidated, with many sections severely damaged, making travel difficult, time-consuming, and costly. Now, the new road is spacious and smooth, making it convenient and safe for people to go to the market, to work, and for students to go to school. With the new road, opportunities for trade, commerce, and economic development are also more vibrant, and I believe that the lives of the people will become increasingly prosperous.”
With an increasingly synchronized transportation infrastructure system, the DT.183 road is a crucial "boost," creating momentum for local development. Comrade Tang Trung In, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Bang Lang commune, stated: "The commune has potential and advantages in commercial agriculture linked with community and eco-tourism. Therefore, this connecting road will help the commune better plan its development direction for production, services, and tourism; attract businesses to invest; find markets for agricultural products; create more jobs; increase income; and improve the lives of the people."
Furthermore, the road helps shorten the distance between communes in Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai , forming a regional connection. This is a key factor for localities to implement the advanced rural development program, achieve sustainable poverty reduction, and strengthen people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the State.
