Join Wings of dreams for students in disadvantaged areas
In its first year, the "Wings of Dreams" scholarship program awarded 100 scholarships (4 million VND each) to junior and senior high school students in 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region. In subsequent years, the program will expand to the Southeast, Central, and Central Highlands regions.
Students must have good conduct, good academic performance, come from disadvantaged backgrounds, and demonstrate a strong determination to overcome difficulties and excel in their studies.
Specifically, scholarship applicants must be referred to the program by classmates, teachers at school, local residents, and readers of Tuoi Tre newspaper.
The introduction should clearly state the student's family background, especially their efforts to overcome difficulties in order to pursue their education and excel in both their studies and life.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc - Rector of Van Hien University - this introduction aims to encourage mutual interest and sharing within the community regarding exemplary students who are studious and have the willpower to overcome challenges in life.
The organizers hope to discover truly dedicated students who are respected by their teachers and classmates, and who deserve to receive the scholarship.
There will be 11 prizes (worth 21 million VND) awarded to articles or individuals who correctly identify the target subjects, selected for publication in Tuoi Tre newspaper.
The prizes include 1 first prize (4 million VND), 2 second prizes (3 million VND each), 3 third prizes (2 million VND each), and 5 consolation prizes (1 million VND each).
120 scholarships for students
The "Wings of Dreams" scholarship program offers 120 scholarships to candidates admitted to Van Hien University and Binh Minh Saigon College (total funding of over 5.6 billion VND).
Specifically, 60 scholarships are available for new students at Van Hien University, with the following structure: 10 scholarships covering tuition fees for the entire course (140 million VND/scholarship), 20 scholarships offering a 50% tuition fee reduction (70 million VND/scholarship), and 30 scholarships offering a 30% tuition fee reduction (42 million VND/scholarship).
Similarly, 60 scholarships are available at Binh Minh Saigon College, including 10 scholarships covering 100% of tuition fees for the entire course (56 million VND/scholarship), 20 scholarships offering a 50% tuition fee reduction (26 million VND/scholarship), and 30 scholarships offering a 30% tuition fee reduction (16.8 million VND/scholarship).
Scholarship recipients must have a good academic record or better, good conduct throughout their years of study, and have graduated from high school, and been admitted to Van Hien University or Binh Minh Saigon College in 2024.
Other conditions include students from disadvantaged families, those with disabilities, orphans, or those whose family members (the breadwinners) unfortunately suffer from serious illnesses or work-related accidents, being children of war invalids or martyrs, or families with meritorious service to the revolution facing difficult circumstances.
The essay or letter of recommendation about the student's background for the scholarship application should not exceed 800 words, accompanied by photos and video clips (if any), and must be written or recommended by friends, teachers, or relatives.
