Hanoi Police FC (CAHN FC) ended their two-match losing streak by scoring three goals against Khanh Hoa FC in the match played at 7:15 PM on May 12th at Hang Day Stadium, as part of Round 18 of the V-League 2023-2024. Jefferson Elias' hat-trick helped Kiatisak Senamuang's team secure a resounding 3-1 victory, reclaiming second place in the standings from Binh Duong.

After the match, coach Kiatisak shared: "Certainly, with the two previous defeats, CAHN Club has no room for error in the championship race. In this match, the players were very confident and secured 3 points. CAHN Club's goal continues to be in the top 3 and close in on the top spot. Thank you to the fans for supporting the team."

Goalkeeper Nguyen Filip conceded a goal in the final minutes of the match, a penalty. After the game, the 1992-born goalkeeper expressed his displeasure with his teammates. However, Kiatisak argued that the desire to keep a clean sheet is understandable for goalkeepers, and therefore Nguyen Filip was unhappy about conceding a goal at the last minute.

"Three points are very important, but goalkeepers always want a clean sheet. That's why Nguyen Filip was upset. In football, anything can happen. I will talk to him again after the match," said coach Kiatisak.

Regarding the match between league leaders Nam Dinh and LPBank HAGL - Kiatisak's former club, the Thai strategist commented: "HAGL could win 3 points against Nam Dinh, it's possible, if they play well."

When asked whether he would recommend any players to the Vietnamese national team other than those who had previously played for the national team, Kiatisak gave a brief answer.

CAHN Club has temporarily narrowed the gap with the top spot to 7 points, but has played one more match.

"I have no comment on this matter. For me, the CAHN club players need to demonstrate their character and performance on the field. That is the measure by which coach Kim Sang-sik selects those players for the Vietnamese national team."

Khanh Hoa FC's coach Tran Trong Binh shared: "We lost for professional reasons. CAHN FC played very well in this match, from both domestic and foreign players. Khanh Hoa FC is facing increasing difficulties in the relegation battle. The next match against SLNA FC will be a decisive contest for our fate this season."

"Today's heavy rain partially affected Khanh Hoa FC in the second half. In the first half, each team played their own style, so it didn't have much of an impact."

When asked about the possibility of coach Hoang Anh Tuan returning to Khanh Hoa FC, Mr. Tran Trong Binh commented: "Personally, I haven't received any official information about coach Hoang Anh Tuan returning to Khanh Hoa. However, we are very hopeful and expect this to happen so we have a chance to avoid relegation. Coach Tuan's experience and capabilities are very much needed by the club during this difficult time. Previously, Coach Tuan also managed Khanh Hoa FC and helped the team avoid relegation."
