Today, June 26, Google and the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention - Ministry of Public Security launched the campaign " Preventing online fraud - safer with the Ministry of Public Security & Google " .
This initiative aims to raise public awareness, helping people identify and prevent sophisticated forms of online fraud.

The campaign is being deployed on online platforms with the participation of more than 200 YouTube content creators, playing a role in spreading information and inspiring action. YouTubers will incorporate personal stories, tips to avoid scams, and warning information into videos shared with millions of followers.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, in 2024, there were more than 6,000 online fraud cases recorded, causing losses of over 12,000 billion VND.
70% of people have received at least one suspected scam message or call each month, showing the urgency of popularizing cyber security knowledge.
Within the framework of the campaign, a series of 8 shorteducational videos (each video is 1 minute long) will be released. In which, experts from Google and the Ministry of Public Security analyze 7 most common forms of fraud , including: impersonating educational institutions, capital recovery fraud, service payment, online shopping and travel, impersonating law enforcement officers, love fraud - financial gain and investment on fake platforms. Each video is accompanied by practical advice for users to protect themselves.

Google Play's fraud protection feature alone has blocked 4.5 million installations of suspected malicious applications on more than 1 million Android devices.
Along with this campaign, Google continues to expand the Government App Verification initiative, helping users recognize official government apps through the "Official" verification mark on Google Play. From the initial 80 apps such as VNeID, VssID, there are now more than 110 authenticated Government apps.
