One person died from a lightning strike.

On April 15th, the People's Committee of Dak Nong commune, Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province, reported that a hailstorm accompanied by lightning struck the area, resulting in one death and six injuries.

Locals took the victims to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Accordingly, at around 3 PM on April 14th, while residents of Ta Pok village, Dak Nong commune, were harvesting cassava in a field located in Dak Ang commune, Ngoc Hoi district, a thunderstorm with heavy rain and hail occurred.

A group of seven villagers quickly moved to a nearby field hut to take shelter from the rain. While sheltering, lightning suddenly struck, killing Y Duong (34 years old) instantly; six others sitting nearby were injured. Immediately after the incident, the victims were taken by villagers to Ngoc Hoi Regional General Hospital for emergency treatment.

The hat that Ms. Y Duong was wearing was struck by lightning.

Later that evening, the victim Y Duong was taken home by his family to prepare for his funeral. By the morning of April 15th, four of the injured had been discharged from the hospital; two others remained hospitalized for treatment and observation.

According to the leaders of the People's Committee of Dak Nong commune, this was the first thunderstorm with lightning to occur in the area this year.
