Manchester United could part ways with their entire squad in the summer of 2025. |
According to the Daily Mail , Manchester United are planning a complete overhaul of their squad, with almost the entire team on the list of players to be sold. The entire transfer budget for Amorim will depend entirely on the money earned from selling players and cutting the wage bill. This is a significant challenge, but the MU leadership is confident that the financial target is entirely achievable.
The most notable player to be offloaded is Marcus Rashford. After somewhat rediscovering his form while on loan at Aston Villa, the 27-year-old striker could be sold outright for around £45 million. If Villa don't buy him, there are still several other Premier League and European clubs interested in Rashford.
Jadon Sancho has been underwhelming during his loan spell at Chelsea and is likely to be sold permanently. Manchester United are willing to accept a price of around £37 million, half the amount they paid to bring him from Borussia Dortmund.
Antony's case is similar. The Brazilian midfielder has performed quite well at Real Betis, and the Spanish club is willing to spend around £35 million to keep him, especially if they qualify for the Champions League next season.
Perhaps the most controversial aspect is Amorim's willingness to consider parting ways with one of Manchester United's two most promising young talents in the academy: Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho. Notably, Garnacho could fetch up to £50 million.
Napoli are closely monitoring the situation of the Argentinian player. Meanwhile, Mainoo is on Chelsea's radar, especially as his contract extension negotiations with Manchester United are stalled due to salary issues.

Casemiro earns a high salary but his contributions are limited due to his age. |
Several other players are also on the transfer list. Tyrell Malacia could leave for around £10 million. Despite stating his desire to stay, goalkeeper Andre Onana is still being contacted by clubs in Saudi Arabia, especially given his high salary and inconsistent form.
Casemiro, with a salary of £350,000 per week, is one of the names that the MU management wants to offload soon to reduce the financial burden. Christian Eriksen is almost certain to leave the team after the season ends, paving the way for a streamlined squad and reduced wage bill.
Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, and Rasmus Hojlund could also be packing their bags and leaving Old Trafford in the summer of 2025.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is willing to spend heavily on transfers, but is adamant about not offering high-paying contracts indiscriminately as before. Instead, new signings will be offered contracts with salaries tied to performance and achievements.
This marks a major turning point in Manchester United's transfer policy, as the team shifts from uncontrolled spending to a more sustainable and pragmatic model under Amorim.
