MU may say goodbye to the entire squad in the summer of 2025. |
According to the Daily Mail , the "Red Devils" plan to completely overhaul the squad, with almost the entire squad being listed for liquidation. Amorim's entire transfer budget will depend entirely on the proceeds from player sales and wage cuts. This is a big challenge, but the MU leadership is confident that the financial goal is completely feasible.
The most notable name to be sold is Marcus Rashford. After somewhat regaining his form on loan at Aston Villa, the 27-year-old striker could be sold outright for around £45 million. If Villa do not buy, there are still a number of other clubs in the Premier League and Europe interested in Rashford.
Jadon Sancho has had a poor loan spell at Chelsea and is likely to be sold permanently. United are willing to accept a fee of just £37 million, half the amount they paid to bring him from Borussia Dortmund.
Antony is a similar story. The Brazilian midfielder has been doing well for Real Betis, and the Spanish club are willing to pay around £35m to keep him, especially if they qualify for next season's Champions League.
Perhaps the most controversial is that Amorim is willing to consider parting with two of the brightest young talents in the MU academy, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho. Notably, Garnacho could be sold for up to 50 million pounds.
Napoli are keeping a close eye on the Argentine's situation. Meanwhile, Mainoo has been on Chelsea's radar, especially as negotiations over his contract extension with United have stalled over wages.

Casemiro earns a high salary but his contribution is limited due to his age. |
Several other players are also on the list of players to be sold. Tyrell Malacia could leave for around £10m. Despite declaring his desire to stay, goalkeeper Andre Onana is still being contacted by clubs in Saudi Arabia, especially given his high salary and inconsistent form.
Casemiro, with a salary of 350,000 pounds/week, is one of the names that MU's board of directors wants to sell soon to reduce the financial burden. Christian Eriksen will almost certainly leave the team after the end of the season, paving the way for streamlining the squad and salary fund.
Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire or Rasmus Hojlund may also have to pack up and leave Old Trafford in the summer transfer window of 2025.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is willing to spend big on transfers, but is determined not to hand out contracts with high salaries indiscriminately like before. Instead, new recruits will be offered contracts with salaries linked to efficiency and performance.
This is a major turning point in the Red Devils' transfer policy, as the team shifts from uncontrolled spending to a more sustainable and pragmatic model under Amorim.
