Sharing the joy on this grand occasion

From Cong Don village (Zuoih commune), Mr. To Ngol Dooch, along with more than 40 actors and artisans from various villages in the commune, came to Thanh My town to participate in the grand festival.

Tơ Ngôl Đoóch said that each time the festival is organized, it revives the pride in the ethnic identity within the community. Not only the actors and artisans, but also the people in the commune all want to participate in the festival.

“The Zuôih commune delegation participated in the performance with more than 40 artisans and performers, including many students and young people working in the delta. The delegation tried their best to bring a beautiful performance, complete with the rituals and traditional dances of the Cơ Tu people in Zuôih commune.”

"Coming to interact with the ethnic minority communities throughout the district, the Zuôih commune delegation also hopes to introduce the beauty of their culture to delegates and tourists attending this cultural event," shared Tơ Ngôl Đoóch.

Participating in the 6th "Echoes of the Gong" cultural event, Alang Thi Nhung (from Ca Dy commune) said that standing on stage and introducing the beauty of Co Tu women through traditional costumes to a large audience of locals and tourists was an unforgettable experience.

“This is an opportunity for everyone to know that the people of the Nam Giang highlands are always conscious of preserving the cultural values of their ancestors. Culture is a precious asset of the community, including traditional clothing. Events like this are opportunities for young people like me to proudly promote the beauty of highland women,” Alăng Thị Nhung confided.

The lingering effects of the festival.

Over the two days of the "Echoes of the Gong" festival, with a series of activities, the people of the Nam Giang highlands were immersed in joy.

The festival, first and foremost, achieved its purpose of serving the community, allowing ethnic minority people throughout the district to interact and meet. The large number of locals and tourists who crowded the Thanh My stadium over the two nights of the festival demonstrated the effectiveness of promoting tourism through the culture and traditional cuisine of the local people.

From Da Nang City, Kring Thi Nhung (from Dak Pring commune) arranged her schedule to attend the festival upon hearing about it.

"I've performed in the 'Gong Echoes' festival before, but this year, due to work commitments, I couldn't join the rehearsals with the village's performers. However, I still wanted to return and join my villagers."

"What makes it even better is that this year's festival allowed me to bring some friends from the lowlands up here. This is an opportunity for me to introduce the beautiful culture of the ethnic minority communities in Nam Giang to my friends," Nhung shared.

Witnessing the festival atmosphere, Huynh Thi Hang, a friend of Nhung's from Tien Phuoc, said she was very impressed with the dances, costumes, and traditional rituals of the ethnic groups in Nam Giang.

"This is the first time I've had the chance to see and experience the culture and cuisine of the highlands firsthand. The festival helped me understand more about the unique cultural identity of the ethnic groups, learn about their very distinct customs and rituals, and left an unforgettable impression," Hang said.

According to Mr. A Viet Son, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nam Giang district, a new feature of this year's "Echoes of the Gong" festival is the presence of 12 reconstructed traditional communal houses (gươl) of the Co Tu people and communal houses (âng) of the Ve and Ta Rieng people, right in the festival venue. The presentation during the opening ceremony was also cleverly integrated using a model of a large communal house in the center of the main stage.

"We have strived to preserve the most authentic versions of traditional dances and rituals, creating a community-based performance space to both safeguard and educate the public about cultural preservation, while also showcasing unique and rich cultural features to delegates and tourists."

"This activity aims to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Nam Giang District Party Committee (June 28), and at the same time introduce the colorful picture, customs, and daily life of the ethnic communities, so that the gongs and drums of the mountain people can resonate far and wide..." - Mr. A Viet Son emphasized.
