Nam Giang 2 Ethnic Boarding Primary School (Nam Giang commune) currently has 176 students, mostly children of the Co Tu ethnic group. Despite its continuous efforts to maintain the quality of teaching and learning, the school still faces many difficulties regarding facilities and learning conditions.
According to Mr. Ong Van Sinh, the school principal, many teaching facilities are lacking, and the equipment for students in grades 3, 4, and 5 does not meet the requirements of educational reform. The school has one computer room, but only 9 computers are operational, making it difficult to organize lessons using information technology. Furthermore, the majority of students are from ethnic minority groups, and their families face many difficulties in their lives.
In response to this situation, Ly Tu Trong Primary School (Hai Chau Ward) recently established a sister school relationship with Nam Giang 2 Ethnic Boarding Primary School to exchange and share management experiences, provide professional support, and accompany students in mountainous areas. On this occasion, Ly Tu Trong Primary School, in coordination with the Internal Security Department ( Da Nang City Police), donated 4 computer sets to the school; and distributed 276 gifts to students and disadvantaged people, totaling over 100 million VND.
According to Tran Thi Le, Principal of Ly Tu Trong Primary School, the connection between the two institutions stems from a desire to support schools facing numerous difficulties. The biggest goal is not only to provide material support but also to create opportunities for teachers and students from both areas to learn from each other and work together towards the holistic development of the younger generation.

In Son Tra ward, Ly Tu Trong Secondary School and Nguyen Chi Thanh Secondary School have established a sister school relationship with Tra Leng 2 Ethnic Boarding Secondary School (Tra Leng commune). According to Ha Thi Ngoc Hoa, Principal of Ly Tu Trong Secondary School, following the sister school ceremony in September 2025, the school has made two field trips to Tra Leng to donate gifts and organize professional activities. In the first trip, the school donated 1,000 notebooks and 270 sets of physical education uniforms, with a total value of over 46 million VND.
Following this, through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son Tra Ward, the school's staff, teachers, and students continued to donate 2,295 notebooks, 304 books, 1,600 pens, 25 pencil cases, 9 backpacks, and over 16 million VND in cash to the neighboring school.
At the end of April 2026, Ly Tu Trong Secondary School continued its field trip to Tra Leng. Besides professional development activities and preparation for the 10th grade high school entrance exam, the school also donated a "Open Bookcase - Sharing Bookcase" project, comprising 648 books and stories for students in the mountainous region, contributing to the spread of reading culture.
According to Nguyen Duc Yen, Principal of Tra Leng 2 Ethnic Boarding Junior High School, the school's students are mainly children of the M'Nong and Ca Dong ethnic minorities, coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, while the school's facilities are still inadequate. Therefore, the twinning program with the two schools in Son Tra ward is of particular importance. Not only do teachers receive material support, but they also have the opportunity to exchange professional knowledge, management experiences, and teaching methods, contributing to improving the quality of education and motivating students to strive for academic excellence.
The twinning program between schools in mountainous and lowland areas is also taking place in many other localities, creating a widespread network of connections between educational institutions.
Mr. Pham Tan Ngoc Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, commented that the twinning program between schools in the plains and mountainous areas has practical significance, contributing to narrowing the development gap between regions and creating motivation to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
Through exchanges, sharing of management experiences, and professional support, each unit has the opportunity to leverage its strengths and complement each other's resources. More importantly, this serves as a bridge to foster a spirit of solidarity, responsibility, and sharing throughout the entire sector. In the future, the education sector will continue to maintain and expand these twinning models, contributing to building a fair, humane, and sustainable education system.
