According to the Department of Health's report, the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital has currently implemented 1,816 techniques out of a total of 2,901 techniques as prescribed by the Ministry of Health , achieving 62.6%. The hospital is also the leading unit among provincial-level specialized hospitals in terms of the rate of implementation of techniques (averaging 53.4%). Mr. Trieu Quang Phu, Director of the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital, said: To increase the rate of implementation of techniques, the hospital regularly reviews the professional capacity, human resources, facilities, and existing equipment of each department and ward. Based on that, the unit develops a plan for developing techniques in a way that is consistent with actual treatment needs, prioritizing techniques that directly serve the work of motor rehabilitation, rehabilitation after stroke, injury, musculoskeletal diseases, neurological diseases, and some developmental disorders in children. Along with that, the hospital focuses on training and developing its team of doctors, technicians, and nurses; Proactively propose investments in machinery and equipment; and at the same time, effectively utilize existing equipment to improve the quality of treatment.
To ensure the effective implementation of these techniques, from 2025 to the present, the hospital has focused on training and updating the professional skills of its medical staff, doctors, and technicians. Specifically, the hospital has sent two doctors to study for Specialist Level I in Rehabilitation Medicine; one technician to study for Specialist Level I in Rehabilitation Medicine; one doctor to participate in a basic pediatric rehabilitation course; and one nurse to attend a basic language course in pediatric rehabilitation. In addition, the hospital has provided practical training for 46 doctors, medical technicians, nurses, and medical assistants; and sent staff to participate in seminars, scientific activities, and online consultations in rehabilitation medicine and traditional medicine organized by higher-level hospitals and training institutions.
Along with human resource training, the hospital proactively reviews the facilities and equipment in its departments and wards to develop appropriate investment plans. From 2025 to the present, in addition to two rounds of state budget investment and equipment supplementation totaling over 1.5 billion VND, the hospital has allocated over 2.1 billion VND from its career development fund to purchase shortwave therapy machines, therapeutic ultrasound machines, electrostimulation machines, paraffin heating systems, and other specialized equipment for rehabilitation treatment.
The addition of equipment not only enhances technical capabilities but also allows doctors and technicians to choose more appropriate treatment methods for each patient. Dr. Hoang Doan Hiep, from the Department of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy at the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital, said: "In recent years, the department has regularly received investment in new equipment such as electrostimulation machines, paraffin heating systems, and other physical therapy equipment. Thanks to this, treatment is more effective, especially for patients with musculoskeletal pain, limited mobility, and sequelae after strokes. I and the doctors and technicians regularly participate in rehabilitation training courses organized by the Ministry of Health and higher-level hospitals to update our knowledge and skills for application in treatment."
The changes in equipment and treatment methods are clearly felt by patients during their daily treatment. Mr. Hoang Van Dung, 69 years old, from Block 6, Tam Thanh Ward, shared: "I suffered a stroke 6 years ago and have been regularly treated at the Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital. I see that the equipment is constantly being upgraded and is getting better and better. After each treatment, my limbs ache less, and I can move around much more easily."
Along with Mr. Dung, the effectiveness of treatment was also felt by many patients, with 96% of patients satisfied with the medical services at the hospital, higher than the provincial average (94.5%). In 2025, the hospital attracted over 21,680 outpatient visits and nearly 3,800 inpatient treatments, achieving 145% of the assigned plan. From the beginning of 2026 to date, the hospital has achieved nearly 10,000 outpatient visits and more than 1,450 inpatient treatments; the unit has completed 3/4 of the key tasks for 2026, including the task of implementing two new technical services: massage and acupressure treatment for autism in children and short-needle electroacupuncture treatment for autism in children.
In the future, the hospital will continue to expand its techniques, improve the quality of treatment, and promote its specialized role in the province's healthcare system, becoming a trusted medical facility for the people in the area.
