In 2020, the Lua Vy Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative was established and operates primarily in the production and trading of Houttuynia cordata tea, guava, and black sesame, among other products.
However, the cooperative's development path has not been smooth. During the period 2021-2024, the cooperative faced many difficulties due to the impact of natural disasters and epidemics. Specifically, heavy rains and storms caused flooding and damage to machinery, packaging, and raw materials worth over 1 billion VND. Also during this period, the complex development of the COVID-19 pandemic led to difficulties in production and product consumption.
Ms. Vi Thi Lua, Director of the Cooperative, said: To overcome difficulties, the Cooperative has proactively leveraged its internal resources while mobilizing other resources to reinvest in equipment and build workshops; and established links to develop stable raw material areas. Specifically, the Cooperative has linked production and business with 50 households, 2 other cooperatives, and 3 other enterprises. Given the complex developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Cooperative has proactively explored, researched, and applied information technology and digital transformation to promote, introduce, and sell its products.
Thanks to these methods, the cooperative has achieved stable operations, and the quality of its products has continuously improved. For example, the cooperative's watercress tea has been certified as a typical rural industrial product; awarded the Vietnam Agricultural Gold Brand; and received a 4-star OCOP product certification. The cooperative has also won the Cooperative Star Award and numerous commendations and certificates from various levels and sectors. Most recently, the cooperative and its director, Lụa Vy Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative, were honored with a certificate of merit for being a "Typical Advanced Model with achievements in implementing emulation movements for the development of collective and cooperative economies in the period 2020-2025"...
Currently, the cooperative sells 300-1,000 products daily, mainly tea products. Operating efficiently, the cooperative continues to invest in expanding production, creating jobs for local people. Ms. Vi Thi Chung, from Lang Hang village, Quan Son commune, happily shared: "Before, these 4 acres of land were used to grow rice and chili peppers, which was very hard work and yielded very little income. Since partnering with the cooperative to grow watercress, I earn 70-80 million VND per year. Compared to growing rice, the income is 4-5 times higher. This year, I've also started growing black sesame to supply the cooperative for tea production, hoping for even better income."
Mr. Nguyen Hung Manh, Chairman of the Quan Son Commune People's Committee, said: "The Luu Vy Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative is a leading and efficient production and business unit in the commune. The cooperative has built a stable agricultural production and consumption chain, creating more jobs and income for the people. This contributes to the overall socio-economic development of the area."
In the coming period, the Luu Vy Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative will continue to further improve product quality and strengthen promotion to boost product consumption by approximately 20%. This will both enhance the cooperative's operational efficiency and develop additional raw material areas, creating more jobs and increasing income for local residents.
We are confident that, with the results achieved and the practical experience gained in its operations, the Luu Vy Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative will continue to develop even more strongly in the future. This will help it maintain its position as a shining example in the overall development of the collective economy in the province.
