Lan Ha Bay is located to the east of Cat Ba Island and adjacent Ha Long Bay is located to the south. Lan Ha Bay covers an area of over 7,000 hectares, encompassing a relatively pristine archipelago with approximately 400 islands of varying sizes, creating a vast and enchanting landscape.
What makes Lan Ha Bay special is its many islands with sandy beaches at the foot of the mountains, adding to its vibrant beauty. Visitors can dock their boats to stroll on the sand or swim in these pristine beaches. Within Lan Ha Bay is Cai Beo Floating Village, home to over 200 families living in houses built on pontoons. The village has been the subject of ongoing research by archaeologists from Vietnam and abroad, studying its history spanning thousands of years. Visitors often rent boats for 3-4 hours, following a route from Beo Wharf – Cai Beo Bay – visiting fish farms (be sure to inquire about prices before buying fish) or visiting other attractions. Ba Trai Dao Island – then go swimming, relax, and have a drink at Monkey Island before returning to Beo Wharf.
Unlike Ha Long Bay , Lan Ha Bay There are 139 small, charming, and secluded golden sandy beaches, like "blue coves" inviting tourists to explore . Many beaches stretch between two rocky mountains, quiet and without large waves, truly ideal for swimming. Beneath the clear blue water are colorful coral reefs such as Van Boi and Van Ha beaches... Calm waters like those around Sen Island, Cu Island, and Monkey Island are perfect places for snorkeling and coral viewing.
