The charm of the Pà Thẻn people - Hà Giang

The Pa Then people are one of the 54 ethnic minority groups in Vietnam, mainly concentrated in the provinces of Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang. In Ha Giang, they reside mainly in Bac Quang and Quang Binh districts, especially in Tan Bac commune, Quang Binh district. Despite being a minority ethnic group with a relatively small population (approximately 8,248 people according to the 2019 census), the Pa Then people have preserved many unique and distinctive traditional cultural features.

The traditional clothing of Pà Thẻn women is very colorful, predominantly red. The patterns on their clothing are often made from many pieces of fabric, intricately embroidered, and symbolize harmony between humans and nature. They have a long-standing and renowned tradition of weaving, and their woven products are favored by many surrounding ethnic groups.

The Pa Then people in Ha Giang are actively preserving and promoting their unique cultural identity, contributing to enriching the diverse cultural landscape of Vietnam's ethnic groups.
