On June 25, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its forces had repelled more than 20 attacks by Ukraine in the past 24 hours.
In particular, the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk witnessed the most intense clashes, with more than 10 attacks being repelled, followed by four more counterattacks in the area of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR) and the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
The Russian Ministry of Defense also stated that its military had destroyed a large ammunition depot near the city of Avdiivka, located in the DPR region.
In the south, fighting of moderate intensity continued, with Russian forces repelling three attacks and shelling several points near Orekhov, the main VSU logistics center in Zaporizhzhia.
According to Russian statistics, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU) suffered heavy losses in this attack, losing 800 men and having much equipment and weaponry destroyed.
* Speaking on television on June 25, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he remains in regular contact with the Ministry of Defense. At the same time, the head of Moscow remains confident in the realization of plans related to the "special military operation" in Ukraine.
Earlier that day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov also stated: “(The developments regarding the Wagner forces) have had no impact whatsoever. The 'special military operation' will continue. Our soldiers on the ground have shown bravery. They are dealing with the VSU counterattack very effectively.”
* In related news, on June 25, the Israeli Foreign Ministry announced it would summon Ukrainian Ambassador Yevgen Kornichuk after the diplomat issued a statement criticizing the Israeli government's policy on the conflict in Ukraine as "disregarding moral boundaries."
Earlier, writing on Facebook , the Ukrainian Embassy in Tel Aviv posted a statement strongly condemning Israel's policy regarding the conflict in Ukraine. The statement asserted: "Israel provided no humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the first half of 2023, and Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen's visit to Kyiv in February 2023 was 'ineffective'."
The post also criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's interview with the Jerusalem Post (Israel) last week, specifically stating: "All of Prime Minister Netanyahu's related statements have always been aimed at justifying Israel's complete lack of defense aid to Kyiv over the past 1.5 years."
The statement also criticized Israel for ceding land to Russia for building an office in Jerusalem, for Israeli officials attending a reception hosted by the Russian embassy, and for increasing trade with Russia instead of imposing sanctions as the West is doing. According to Kyiv, Israel's actions demonstrated a "disregard for moral boundaries."
