(CLO) The "Opening Spring" art exhibition, currently taking place at the Center for Appraisal and Exhibition of Fine Arts and Photography at 29 Hang Bai Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi ), offers the public a cultural and artistic space for the new year, brimming with the vibrant colors of spring in every brushstroke and shade, creating a truly impressive experience.

The "Opening Spring" exhibition, organized by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions under the direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, commemorates the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), celebrates the Year of the Snake 2025, and marks the country's entry into a new era. It also serves as an opportunity to encourage established and promising artists to continuously create outstanding works, contributing to the development of national art.

The 58 works by 29 selected artists on display represent a harmonious blend of distinct personalities, yet share a common positive energy, conveying auspicious messages about a fresh spring, full of faith and hope. At the exhibition, a rich variety of painting materials are handled and expressed skillfully by the artists, from oil paint, acrylic, wood carving, lacquer to silk and dó paper. While the number of sculptures is smaller, they also offer unique aesthetic value.

With a spring theme, many works depict the beauty of nature, seasonal flowers, and traditional festivals throughout the country, from mountainous villages in the north to the streets of Hanoi and the riverside countryside. Artist Ngo Quang Nam (born in 1942), the oldest artist in the exhibition, contributed three of his favorite works: "By Thien Quang Lake," "On the Ha Giang Plateau," and "Mong Flute Melody." Sharing his feelings as a veteran artist, he expressed his joy at participating in an event that brings together many generations of Vietnamese painters and sculptors.

Each artwork here contains the artist's profound ideas and feelings about the vitality of spring, conveyed to the public through the language of art. Sharing the same assessment that the "Opening Spring" exhibition brings together many representative works in various materials, artist Le Anh Van – former Rector of the Vietnam Fine Arts University – affirmed that art is a bridge that helps people share love and happiness in the new spring. At this exhibition, artist Le Anh Van's work "Snake Swarm" contributes an artistic perspective on the zodiac animal of the year.

Besides that, one of the works that attracted much attention and was photographed by many viewers was the four-panel painting "Seasons of Serenity" by artist Vu Thuy Mai (born in 1990). The watercolor on silk artwork by the youngest artist in the exhibition impressed with its vibrant, bright colors and the harmony of many small details. According to the artist, the work is inspired by the four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter in Hanoi, with each season featuring different flowers and fruits, leaving its own unique mark. Spring has peonies and daffodils, summer has lotus flowers, autumn has milkweed flowers, and winter has chrysanthemums…

The exhibition features 29 artists, representing three generations of visual artists who have contributed to the development of the fine arts industry, having worked or participated in professional activities organized by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions; these include established artists and young artists with meticulous professional skills, gradually establishing their place in the national art scene.
