According to the Q3/2024 financial report, the average income per Techcombank employee reached 48 million VND/month. With this figure, will Techcombank be able to maintain its position as the bank with the best employee benefits in the system?
Techcombank's Q3 financial report shows that average employee income continues to increase. The average total income (salary, bonuses, and other allowances) for employees in the first nine months of the year reached VND 48 million per person, an increase of VND 3 million compared to the same period last year.
In particular, the average salary per employee is 41 million VND/person/month, which is 3 million VND/person/month higher than the same period in 2023.
Techcombank reported that its total number of employees in the first nine months of the year was 10,762 (compared to 11,242 in the same period last year). Techcombank spent over VND 4,676 billion on salaries and allowances in the first nine months of the year (compared to VND 4,535 billion in the same period last year).

While not many banks have yet released their Q3 financial reports, Techcombank is likely to maintain its top position in terms of employee income. This has been the bank's familiar position since dethroning Vietcombank a few years ago.
According to VietNamNet's update at the end of Q2 2024, Techcombank employees' income still ranked number one, at 53 million VND/person/month, an increase of 9 million VND compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the three banks trailing behind – Vietcombank, HDBank , and TPBank – all have average employee incomes exceeding 37 million VND per person per month. Thus, the gap between Techcombank and the following group remains quite large.
Besides Techcombank, the Vietnam Prosperity and Development Bank (PGBank) also released its Q3 financial report, revealing that the average salary and income of its employees increased compared to the same period last year.
In the first nine months of this year, the average monthly salary of PGBank employees was 21 million VND/person, an increase of 3 million VND/person/month compared to the same period last year. Average monthly income reached 24 million VND/person, an increase of 2 million VND compared to the same period in 2023.
PGBank currently has only 1,841 employees (compared to 1,723 in the same period last year). The bank's total payroll for the past nine months was 347 billion VND (compared to 276 billion VND in the same period last year).
At KienlongBank, the income of its employees remained unchanged compared to the same period last year, at 20 million VND per person per month. This income includes salary and bonuses. However, the average salary decreased by 1 million VND to 17 million VND per person per month over the past nine months.
KienlongBank currently has 3,630 employees (compared to 3,459 in the same period last year). The total expenditure on employee income for the first three quarters of this year was VND 648.318 billion (compared to VND 611 billion in the same period last year).
While most banks increased spending on employees, Loc Phat Commercial Joint Stock Bank (LPBank) reduced spending compared to the same period last year. According to its Q3 financial report, the average per capita income of LPBank employees in the first nine months of the year was VND 22.25 million/person/month, a decrease of VND 1.85 million/person/month compared to the average of 2023.
Specifically, the average monthly salary of LPBank employees was VND 19.31 million, a decrease of VND 1.51 million compared to the average in 2023.
LPBank's staff numbers in the first nine months of the year were 11,563 (compared to 11,180 in 2023). In the first nine months, LPBank spent 2,300 billion VND on salaries and allowances for its employees, compared to 3,200 billion VND for the whole of 2023.
