Viet A Bank (VietA Bank) has just joined the wave of lowering deposit interest rates from today (May 23). This is the first time VietA Bank has reduced its deposit interest rate since early May.
The deposit interest rate on the online channel for 1-5 month terms is maintained at 5,5%/year. However, for terms from 6 months to under 18 months, the bank simultaneously reduced the interest rate by 0,2%. For a term of 18 months or more, the interest rate will be reduced by 0,3%.
With this reduction, the 6-month term deposit interest rate is 8,3%/year. The terms of 7-11 months are 8,4%/year; term of 12 months or more is 8,5%/year.
However, VietA Bank notes, it is still possible to apply a different interest rate than the announced table for some customers and not exceed the maximum interest rate prescribed by the State Bank from time to time.
Previously, VietA Bank was the bank that maintained the second highest deposit interest rate in the banking system, after ABBank.
ABBank is the only bank to announce interest rates of 9%/year for 13-month term and 9,2%/year for 15 month term or more. This interest rate is applicable to online and in-app deposits.
Similarly, VIB also reduced deposit interest rates. Online deposit interest rates for deposits from 300 million VND to less than 3 billion VND, term of 7-8 months decreased by 0,2% to 7,7%/year. Term of 9-11 months decreased 0,1% to 7,8%/year; 15-18 month term decreased by 0,2% to 7,9%/year.
Meanwhile, Orient Bank (OCB) announced the second reduction in deposit interest rates, since early May.
Online deposit interest rates for individual customers with a term of 6-15 months decreased slightly by 0,1%. 6 month term deposit remaining 8%/year and 8,1%/year for term from 9-15 months. The terms of 18 months or more still maintain the interest rate of 7,9%/year. The deposit interest rate for 1-month term is 5,3%/year, 3-month term is 5,45%/year.
Joining in lowering deposit interest rates is TPBank. This bank offers a 0,1% discount on electronic savings deposits. Currently, the interest rate for 6-month term deposit at TPBank is 7,6%/year, 12-month term is 7,7%/year, 18-month term is 7,5%/year, 24-month term is 7,4, 30%/year and term of 7,3 months XNUMX%/year.
This is the second time in a month that TPBank has announced a reduction in deposit interest rates for the above terms. Interest rates for 2-1 month terms are still maintained by TPBank at 3%/year.
The remaining banks did not change interest rates today.
Yesterday (May 22), the market recorded 5 banks announcing to reduce deposit interest rates, including VietBank, KienLong Bank and Saigonbank.
From the beginning of May until now, a series of banks have reduced deposit interest rates including: VietA Bank, VIB, OCB, Eximbank, MSB, VPBank, TPBank, Vietcombank, Agribank, VietinBank, BIDV, KienLongBank, NamA Bank, NCB, Saigonbank , PVCombank, HDBank, OceanBank, Sacombank, Techcombank, BacA Bank, and VietBank.
The banks that reduced interest rates twice during this period were NCB, VietBank, Eximbank, VPBank, KienLong Bank and Saigonbank, TPBank, and OCB.
