Ngan Son in tobacco harvest season

In 2025, Ngan Son district planted more than 971.7 hectares of tobacco, reaching 114% of the plan. Currently, some areas of plants are in the stage of developing stems and leaves, some areas have been harvested. However, the weather since the beginning of the period has been less rainy, with prolonged drought, so many areas have grown and developed slowly.

Going to Hiep Luc and Thuan Mang communes in Ngan Son district these days, it is not difficult to see green tobacco fields. Some areas have been harvested, people are excited because this year the tobacco quality is good, the yield is high.

Mr. Nguyen Trieu Ta, Ban Giang village, Thuan Mang commune said: "For a long time, my family has been growing tobacco on land lacking water, only growing one crop of rice. At first, due to lack of experience, the tobacco products were not good. After being trained by the Tobacco Purchasing Company and the commune government on how to grow, care for, and dry tobacco, the products made by my family have improved. Since growing tobacco, my family has had a more stable source of income. Compared to rice, corn, and other crops, tobacco brings much higher profits."

Mr. Trieu Van Cuoi, Na Chua village, Thuan Mang commune shared: "Last year, my family planted ^5000m2, this year it increased by another ^1000m2 . Although it takes a lot of effort to take care of, and we have to regularly check to detect pests and diseases, in return, tobacco plants provide a fairly stable income, and after selling the products, we have money to cover our living expenses. Currently, the family's tobacco growing area has yielded the first harvest."

After being collected, tobacco will be dried in an oven.

It can be seen that tobacco has become a key crop that brings economic efficiency to the people of Ngan Son district, many households have escaped poverty and have a good income. Tobacco is suitable for the climate and soil here; in addition, having a partnering enterprise to invest in advance agricultural materials, fertilizers and pesticides, and organizing technical training makes people feel secure in production.
