Nghe An: Highlights September 29

* On the afternoon of September 29, in Vinh City, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial People's Council held a regular meeting for September 2023. Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation chaired the meeting.

At the working session, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council gave opinions on the preparation content for the explanation session in October 2023.

* Also in this meeting, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council agreed to organize the 16th Session (Special Session) on the afternoon of October 27, 2023, to conduct a vote of confidence for the positions elected by the Provincial People's Council, including: Chairman of the People's Council, Vice Chairmen of the People's Council, Head of the People's Council Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee, Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee, members of the Provincial People's Committee elected by the Provincial People's Council before January 1, 2023, including 30 people.

* Regarding the activities of elected representatives, on the morning of September 29, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation met with voters in Nghia Hung commune, Nghia Dan district before the 6th Session of the 15th National Assembly.

At the conference, there were 18 opinions and recommendations from voters, with many contents related to issues of traffic infrastructure, policies, job creation, etc.

At the conference, many voters also suggested that land procedures should be public and transparent, and that land officials should provide clear guidance to the people to avoid the phenomenon of brokers taking advantage of harassment. In addition, voters also wanted to be better explained about the revised Land Law as well as how it should be applied to each locality.

* On the morning of September 29, under the chairmanship of Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Committee held a Conference to contribute comments on the draft Regulations on speaking, providing information to the press and handling information posted and broadcast in the press, information reflected on social networks of state administrative agencies in the province. Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors and districts, cities and towns.

The Draft Regulation consists of 4 chapters and 16 articles. Compared to Decision 62/2013/QD-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee promulgating regulations on speaking, providing, posting, broadcasting and handling information in the press in Nghe An province, it has an increase of 1 chapter and 7 articles.

* After recent heavy rains causing flooding and landslides, many roads in Quy Chau district have been broken, and many households are isolated. Currently, the Quy Chau district government is mobilizing forces and means to temporarily fix landslides and damaged structures, ensuring traffic and safety for people after the flood recedes.

* To support local people in overcoming the consequences of floods, on the morning of September 29, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the Education Trade Union, the Provincial Association for Promoting Education and the School Equipment and Books Joint Stock Company to visit and support schools and students in Quy Chau district.

* In another development, after more than a day of searching for a man missing in the flood in Chau Tien commune (Quy Chau), authorities and local people found his body in a field near his house.

Information from the Chau Tien commune government (Quy Chau) about the case of Mr. Lu Van Khuyen, in Hoa Tien 1 village, Chau Tien commune, who went missing from 4:00 a.m. on September 28, and by 12:00 p.m. on September 29, his body was found.

The location where the body was discovered by local people was the Chau Tien commune field, quite close to Hoa Tien 1 village. The location where the body was discovered was not far from the previous location where on the night of September 27, Chau Tien commune authorities met with Mr. Khuyen for the last time before he went missing.
