On the evening of May 11th, in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, to commemorate the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, and in anticipation of the 55th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's last letter to the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee (July 21, 1969 - July 21, 2024), and the 55th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament (1969 - 2024), Nghe An province solemnly inaugurated the 2024 Lang Sen Festival.
Attending the opening ceremony, the delegation from the Ministry of Public Security included General To Lam - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Minister of Public Security; and other members of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, leaders of departments and professional units of the Ministry of Public Security.
The ceremony was attended by comrades: Ho An Phong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Major General Phan Van Sy - Deputy Head of Political Affairs of Military Region 4.
The leaders of Nghe An province included: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Van Thong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; and other members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee; the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; leaders of departments, agencies, mass organizations, and affiliated Party committees; and leaders of districts, cities, and towns.
Representing the sponsoring organizations were Ms. Thai Huong - Hero of Labor during the đổi mới (renovation) period, General Director of Bac A Bank, and Chairwoman of the Strategic Council of TH Group; and Mr. Bien Thanh Hai - Marketing Director of Sao Vang Beer, Wine and Beverage Group Joint Stock Company.
Representatives from Mo Duc district (Quang Ngai province), Ha Quang district (Cao Bang province), Son Duong district (Tuyen Quang province), Dong Hy district (Thai Nguyen province); the Nam Dan Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi; representatives of the Ha, Hoang Xuan, and Nguyen Sinh clans in Nam Dan, along with a large number of people.
Nghe An – a land of "spiritual and talented people," with a rich tradition of history, culture, patriotism, and revolution. The people of Nghe An are always proud that throughout the long history of the nation, every era has produced heroes, outstanding figures, famous generals, and distinguished individuals who have made glorious contributions to their homeland and country.
We are even more proud to be the birthplace of an outstanding figure, a national liberation hero, a world cultural icon, and the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people - President Ho Chi Minh.
Every year in May, to commemorate the birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, Nghe An province solemnly organizes the Lang Sen Festival. The 42nd Lang Sen Festival, in 2024, took place from May 8th to June 9th, with many vibrant and meaningful activities, concentrated in Nam Dan district and Vinh city: Flower and incense offering ceremonies, reporting achievements, and commemorating President Ho Chi Minh; and the Lang Sen Singing Festival with the participation of over 600 artists and performers from 20 amateur art troupes from districts, cities, and towns in Nghe An province.
The provincial volleyball and traditional martial arts tournaments, along with the "Journey to Lang Sen" Marathon, attracted thousands of athletes from both within and outside the country. Particularly impressive is the performance by the Song and Dance Theatre, along with the brass band, ceremonial team, and cavalry of the Ministry of Public Security in tonight's opening ceremony. Artists and performers from Ho Chi Minh City will participate in the closing ceremony on May 19th, themed "From Lang Sen to Ho Chi Minh City," and the street performance "Homeland in the Season of Blooming Lotuses."
This will be an opportunity to introduce and promote to the whole country and international friends the culture of Nghe An, the dynamic and friendly land and people of Nghe An, who are always open to opportunities for cooperation and development.
At the Lotus Village Festival, in addition to expressing their heartfelt respect for President Ho Chi Minh, visitors from all over and the entire population will have the opportunity to visit and capture many impressive and meaningful moments and memories at numerous historical and cultural relics and unique tourist attractions in the homeland of the beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Lang Sen Village Festival on behalf of the provincial leadership, the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An Province, Nguyen Duc Trung, affirmed: The annual Lang Sen Village Festival has become an important political and cultural event; through it, we gain a deeper understanding of the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh, contributing to further promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, fostering the tradition of patriotism, the principle of remembering one's roots, and building national unity for the cause of a prosperous people, a strong nation, and a democratic, just, and civilized society.
In particular, this year marks the 55th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's last letter to the Executive Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, and the 55th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament; in the letter, President Ho Chi Minh gave four instructions on "What must be done in the future," with the heartfelt wish that "the people and comrades of the province will strive to make Nghe An one of the most prosperous provinces in the North."
"Uncle Ho's teachings are a guiding principle, a source of motivation, and a great source of strength for the Party Committee, government, and people of Nghe An to promote the revolutionary spirit, concentrate resources, overcome difficulties and challenges, and successfully fulfill Uncle Ho's wishes, so that Nghe An can soon become a prosperous province in the North and the whole country," the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province emphasized.
On this occasion, on behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung expressed his gratitude to General To Lam - Member of the Political Bureau, Minister of Public Security; and the leaders of ministries, branches, and central agencies for their special affection, attention, and valuable assistance to Nghe An province over the past time. Nghe An province hopes to continue receiving even more attention, support, and assistance from them in the future.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province thanked the collectives and individuals who participated in the festival, especially the officers and performers of the Ministry of Public Security and the artists and performers from Ho Chi Minh City with their outstanding artistic performances. He also thanked TH Group and Sao Vang Beer, Wine and Beverage Joint Stock Company for their support of the festival.
Immediately following the opening speech was the art program "The Sun in the Vietnamese Sky," directed by the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the Ministry of Public Security; and implemented by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An, the Department of Party Affairs and Political Work of the Ministry of Public Security, and the Nghe An Provincial Police. The performing units included: the Nghe An Provincial Traditional Arts Center, the People's Police Music and Dance Theatre, and the People's Police Ceremonial Band.
The artistic program consists of three parts: Part I: The Lotus Blooming in the Night Sky, Part II: The Sun in the Vietnamese Sky, and Part III: The Homeland Sings Forever About Him.
This artistic program deeply reflects the love of the homeland for Uncle Ho and Uncle Ho's love for his homeland and country. It embodies the aspiration for freedom, the noble sacrifice, and the complete dedication of his life to the nation and its people. The program connects songs and excerpts, as well as scenes from folk songs and traditional performances, presented continuously, both grand and powerful, yet subtle and profound, expressing the utmost respect and sincere affection for the beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
