From early morning, Mrs. Dinh Thi Dop, 65 years old, a Ba Na ethnic minority resident of Ko Tu village, Chu A commune, Pleiku city, excitedly cleaned her house, prepared tables, chairs, and drinks to welcome local leaders, officers and soldiers of Regiment 38 (Division 2), relatives, and neighbors to celebrate with her family on the day of moving into her new home. Mrs. Dop's new, sturdy and spacious house was built with financial support from the local authorities and labor contributed by Regiment 38. The house, with an area of over 70 square meters and fully functional with two bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen, was a long-held dream of Mrs. Dop.

Soldiers from Regiment 38 (Division 2) helped Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh's family in Hamlet 1, Bien Ho Commune, Pleiku City, repair their house.

Ms. Dóp said that she suffers from a heart valve disease and is unable to work, so her income mainly depends on the wages her husband, who is over 60 years old, earns from his work. For more than 10 years, she and her husband have lived in a 20m² house that is dilapidated and in serious disrepair, constantly fearing it will collapse during storms and heavy rain. “My husband and I never thought we would live in such a spacious, clean house. Thank you to the Party, the State, the authorities at all levels, and thank you to the kindness of the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army, the soldiers of the 2nd Division,” Ms. Dinh Thi Dóp said emotionally.

Sharing the joy of receiving support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, residing in Hamlet 1, Bien Ho Commune, Pleiku City, shared: “The movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is very meaningful and humane. This movement not only helps the poor and vulnerable in society have the opportunity to improve their lives but also demonstrates the concern of the Party and the State; and the affection of the soldiers of Uncle Ho's army for the people.”

According to Colonel Le Sy Hung, Political Commissar of the 2nd Division, identifying the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for the people as a key political task in 2025, the Party Committee and command of the Division have led and directed agencies and units to closely coordinate with local authorities to organize forces and ensure support to each locality to help people eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses according to the motto "fastest, most effective, and most economical". To date, the unit has completed 26 houses, all meeting the "three solid" standards (solid foundation; solid frame and walls; solid roof), bringing joy and happiness to the people. Comrade Phan Minh Duc, Secretary of the Party Committee of Bien Ho commune, affirmed: "With the support of provincial and city leaders, departments, organizations, and officers and soldiers of the 2nd Division, Bien Ho commune has achieved the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for the people. This is the basis for the commune to build an advanced new rural area, gradually improving the quality of life for the people."
