The one who 'lights the fire' in the hearts of workers

Mr. Dam Thai Hoang (right) , Chairman of the Trade Union of Samju Vina Co., Ltd., received a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for his outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement.

Having been with the company for nearly a decade, Mr. Hoang is not only an administrative officer with solid expertise, but also someone who is always closely involved in the lives of workers. The role of Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union is not simply a title, it is a steadfast commitment, a job that has no off-hours. From mastering the legal regulations on workers' rights, closely monitoring the Collective Labor Agreement, to supervising the implementation of contracts, Mr. Hoang is always the "bridge" between workers and management, protecting workers' rights with understanding, impartiality and responsibility.

The Company’s Union, under the leadership of Mr. Hoang, has truly become a solid support for more than 1,700 workers. It is no coincidence that there have been no strikes or serious labor conflicts here for many years. This is the result of a process of listening, dialogue and timely action - which Mr. Hoang and the Union Executive Committee always put first.

For example, in 2024, the Union Executive Committee and the Company's leadership successfully organized a year-end summary festival with the participation of nearly 1,750 workers, mobilizing sponsorship of more than 850 million VND. Each gift, each performance, each laugh at the festival is the result of meticulous preparation, dedication, and a strong connection between the union, the business and the workers.

Not only does he participate in mass activities, he also leads workers to actively participate in provincial-level sports competitions and tournaments such as football, badminton, and volleyball to improve their health, strengthen their team spirit, and build a union culture. Caring for workers is not just a slogan for Mr. Dam Thai Hoang. He directly works with the union to withdraw funds to visit sick union members and families in difficult circumstances.

Even in unexpected situations such as the damage caused by storm No. 3 - 2024, Mr. Hoang did not stand aside. He and the Union Executive Committee quickly coordinated with the Company's leaders to go to the site to encourage and support more than 500 union members affected. In addition, he also participated in voluntary blood donation, mobilizing workers to participate in social programs such as "Red Drops for Workers, Civil Servants, and Laborers", so that the union is not only a home, but also a bridge of hearts that know how to love and share.

Regarding the emulation movement for excellent and creative workers, Mr. Dam Thai Hoang also has outstanding achievements. In 2024, he had two typical technical initiatives to improve the central air conditioning system and factory cooling, bringing benefits to the business of over 925 million VND/year. These improvements not only help save electricity but also contribute to improving the working environment for workers, ensuring strict technical requirements of production in a clean room environment.

With his tireless efforts, Mr. Dam Thai Hoang has been honored many times with awards such as: Certificates of Merit from the Thai Nguyen Provincial Labor Federation in 2020, 2022, 2023; Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union; Title of Outstanding Grassroots Trade Union Chairman in 2024. In particular, in 2024, Mr. Dam Thai Hoang received a Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for his outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement.

However, the greatest reward for Mr. Hoang is not the certificates of merit, but the trusting eyes of his fellow workers every time they come to him. That is the silent but lasting recognition, the foundation for him to continue to be the one to keep the fire burning in the journey of building a strong union, spreading the spirit of "serving the workers". The dedication, innovation and creativity of a union official like him not only spreads the spirit of solidarity within the company but also contributes significantly to building an increasingly strong union organization, affirming the role of accompanying the workers in the new era. Mr. Dam Thai Hoang is a vivid example of the image of a new-age union official - not only mastering policies, having professional skills, but also knowing how to inspire creativity, ignite the spirit of solidarity, connecting people with a sincere heart.
