Mr. Dinh Quang Hoa, Secretary of the Party branch of Tan Son village, Hoang Hoa commune, always sets a good example and takes the lead in local emulation movements.
Although she has only held the position of Party branch secretary and head of the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Duyet village, Cam Van commune, for 3 years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu has implemented many flexible and creative approaches, which have been recognized by the Party committee and the government, and highly appreciated by the people, making the village a shining example in the New Rural Development program. Leading us along the newly widened road, lined with neatly trimmed flowers and ornamental plants, Ms. Tu said: “Previously, this road was only 2.5 meters wide, with many sections being dirt roads. Therefore, people faced many difficulties in getting around, especially on rainy days when the road was muddy, and on sunny days when it was dusty. Besides that, the construction of a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential area was not something that some people truly cared about.”
Embracing the spirit of "Using the people's strength to care for the people," Ms. Tu and the Party branch discussed and agreed on the policy of continuing to concrete the roads and build a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential area in the Tra Si, Co Bong, and Dong Du residential clusters. Along with publicly announcing the policy and soliciting opinions from the people, Ms. Tu also proactively coordinated with the Fatherland Front committee and other organizations to disseminate information and mobilize people to understand the significance of this project. As a result, despite concerns about the impact on their orchards and existing structures, the people voluntarily donated nearly 1,000 square meters of land to widen the road to 6 meters.
Upholding the spirit of solidarity, the villagers have unanimously contributed money and labor, combined with support from the State, to complete the infrastructure. To date, the village has concreted 99% of its internal roads; installed nearly 10km of street lighting in residential areas; and reinforced nearly 7km of irrigation canals and internal field roads...
Besides focusing on infrastructure development, with 70% of her population being ethnic Muong people, Ms. Tu also actively promotes the preservation of their language, writing system, traditional clothing, and folk songs; and encourages them to adopt a new cultural lifestyle in weddings and funerals; eliminating outdated customs and improving the quality of the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement.
In economic development, she, along with the village development committee, mobilized the people to renovate their neglected gardens and plant valuable fruit trees; she maintained cultural, artistic, and sports activities by establishing folk dance clubs, volleyball clubs, etc., attracting a large number of people to participate, thereby strengthening unity and cohesion within the community.
With a strong sense of responsibility and dedication to his work at the grassroots level, after retirement, thanks to his reputation, in 2008, Mr. Dinh Quang Hoa was elected by officials and residents of Tan Son residential area, But Son town (formerly), now Tan Son village, Hoang Hoa commune, as the Party branch secretary and head of the Fatherland Front Committee. Not only did he exemplify the leading role of a Party member, but in his new position, Mr. Hoa also coordinated with various organizations to promote emulation movements and contribute to building a model new rural area. Besides attending community meetings, and undeterred by difficulties, he and the village development committee regularly visited residents' homes to listen to their concerns and aspirations, resolving problems and fostering community cohesion.
Alongside this, the implementation of the model of a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe residential area, linked with the promotion of local emulation movements, has been widely carried out. Environmental sanitation in the village has become a regular activity for the people on weekends; residents have also planted nearly 1km of flowers and ornamental trees along both sides of the road, and a lighting system has been installed uniformly in the residential area thanks to social contributions.
Along with that, thanks to local incentives and community participation, the village has built a park with an area of nearly 1,000 square meters. “Previously, this area was a stagnant pond, and some residents even dumped garbage indiscriminately here, affecting the environment and the aesthetics of the residential area. In 2021, following the local government's policy of building a park on this land, all residents unanimously agreed. Thanks to effective communication and mobilization efforts, harnessing the strength of the people, the work was completed in a short time. To date, the park has a complete system of trees, benches, and outdoor sports equipment such as swings, seesaws, and treadmills... The park has become a source of pride for the people here, where in the mornings and afternoons, people gather for community activities, thereby contributing to strengthening unity and solidarity within the community,” Mr. Hoa further shared.
Through simple yet practical actions, the team of village and neighborhood Party branch secretaries silently dedicates themselves daily, becoming a reliable support for the people. They are contributing to "lighting up" the spirit of community solidarity, building residential areas into truly livable places, rich in solidarity and community spirit.
