Meaningful Tet gifts
In the final days of the Year of the Snake 2025, Tet gift-giving activities spread warmth everywhere, bringing a loving Tet to many disadvantaged families.
Mr. Phan Van Canh's family (Cong Dien hamlet, Long Dien commune) is a disadvantaged household. Despite owning 4 acres of land for shrimp farming, it's not profitable, and they constantly struggle financially . When he participated in the "Zero-Cost Spring Market," where he could personally select rice, cooking oil, and spices for his Tet (Lunar New Year) meal, Mr. Canh was deeply moved: "With gifts like this, my family is much less worried. This is not only material support but also a show of care and motivation for my family to strive for a better new year."
Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu (63 years old, Cay Giang A hamlet, Long Dien commune) has no land for farming, suffers from many chronic illnesses, and cares for two young grandchildren. Her living expenses depend on the unstable wages of her husband, who is over 60 years old. Before Tet (Lunar New Year), Ms. Dieu's family received 800,000 VND in assistance to buy some sweets and prepare a more decent New Year's meal. Their joy was further amplified when officials from the commune's Fatherland Front visited, offered additional gifts, and kindly extended New Year's wishes. This sincere concern and simple yet warm encouragement helped the family regain their spirits and overcome their difficulties.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu respectfully placed the Tet gift from the province on her family altar.
Without land for farming, the life of Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet's family (Thanh Hung 2 hamlet, Vinh My commune), with four members, depends on her husband's hired labor. Their small house is in serious disrepair, but they haven't been able to renovate it, forcing them to live in temporary conditions. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh My commune mobilized resources to support Ms. Tuyet's family with a "Great Solidarity" house. This Tet holiday, Ms. Tuyet's family will celebrate in their new, sturdy, and more spacious home.
“ This year is the most meaningful Tet holiday for my family. Not only did we get our dream house, but we also received additional gifts to make the Tet holiday more complete and warm,” Ms. Tuyet said, her voice choked with emotion.
Everyone celebrates Tet (Vietnamese New Year).
Besides state budget funding, various departments, organizations, agencies, businesses, and philanthropists have actively joined hands through many humanitarian activities such as "Zero-Cost Tet Market," "Compassionate Tet," "Spring of Love," and "Trade Union Tet Market"... The gifts given not only have material value but also represent sharing and encouragement, helping thousands of families feel warmer during this time of reunion.
With the motto "Leaving no one behind," the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in the province have mobilized maximum social resources to take care of Tet celebrations for poor households, near-poor households, policy beneficiary families, and vulnerable people.
People in difficult circumstances choose meaningful Tet gifts at the "0-dong" (free) stall organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long Dien commune in coordination with local political and social organizations.
In Hung My commune, the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune mobilized more than 700 gifts to distribute to poor and near-poor households and those in particularly difficult circumstances. The Fatherland Front Committee of Long Dien commune also mobilized and distributed 400 gifts of compassion to the people.
Hung My commune presented Tet gifts to people in difficult circumstances in the area.
In Vinh My commune, this year's Tet holiday saw the Fatherland Front Committee, in coordination with its member organizations, mobilize 1,000 gift packages worth a total of 500 million VND to be distributed to disadvantaged households. Ms. Tran Thi Mong Nghi, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh My commune, stated: “In addition to gift giving, the unit coordinated many meaningful activities such as a 'zero-cost' stall, exchanging plastic waste for rice, making Tet cakes on Tet night, and gatherings for policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged households in the former military base area. Especially for newly escaped-from-poverty and near-poverty households, we provided livestock, production capital support, and created conditions for people to have sustainable livelihoods.”
This spring is even more complete with heartfelt gifts that convey care, sharing, and spread the spirit of solidarity and compassion in the community; every family has a happy Tet, everyone enjoys the spring, and no one is left behind.
| With the motto "Spring of unity, a prosperous Tet, ensuring every family has a Tet," for the Tet holiday of the Year of the Horse 2026, the entire province mobilized nearly 132 billion VND for social welfare work. From this fund, the province organized visits and presented gifts to over 47,800 people with meritorious service; nearly 11,000 poor and near-poor households; 10,000 workers and laborers; over 5,400 children with particularly difficult circumstances; nearly 7,000 social welfare beneficiaries in the community; patients undergoing treatment; and non-specialized commune-level officials... |
