With less than 20 days until Christmas and New Year 2025, Notre Dame Cathedral in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, is beautifully decorated, attracting many people to visit and take photos.
In recent days, people in Ho Chi Minh City have been amazed by the dazzling beauty of Notre Dame Cathedral, which has been completely covered with yellow LED lights.
Last weekend, a large number of people flocked to Notre Dame Cathedral to have fun and take photos with this unique architectural masterpiece.
Le Hoang Phuc, a resident of District 4, and his girlfriend visited Notre Dame Cathedral. “Last year there were also LED decorations, but they weren’t as magnificent as this year. As soon as we heard the news, we took advantage of the weekend to come here and we weren’t disappointed at all,” Phuc shared.
Adults and children from all over flocked to Notre Dame Cathedral to have fun and take photos. Many even prepared Christmas decorations to add a special touch to their pictures.
Thúy Hiền and her friends easily found beautiful photo spots outside the church, as all four sides and the roof were covered with LED lights. "Just point your camera and you'll get a great shot," Hiền said.
Notre Dame Cathedral has always been a highlight of downtown Ho Chi Minh City, especially during Christmas, when it is always dazzling with magnificent decorations.
The two 60-meter-tall bell towers, along with the entire roof and all four sides surrounding Notre Dame Cathedral, are covered with 500,000 meters of LED string lights. Last year, the cathedral was also decorated with over 80,000 meters of LED lights, mainly on the two bell towers.
The church is currently undergoing restoration, so the LED lights are installed on scaffolding around the church; the official decoration process was completed on the evening of December 5th.
Currently, the church is not open to the public for visits; parishioners can only enter for services on weekends, or attend services in front of the statue of Our Lady of Peace .
The magnificent space of Notre Dame Cathedral attracts the attention of locals and tourists alike when visiting the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.
Notre Dame Cathedral has been undergoing restoration since 2017, and the work is still ongoing.
Notre Dame Cathedral, located in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, was built in 1877 and completed after 3 years. This distinctive architectural masterpiece was designed by architect J. Bourard, with the cathedral itself standing 60.5 meters tall, the zinc tower and bell tower alone accounting for more than half of its height.
